Icon7 What do you do??

I'm sorry I just have to ask a question. I joined yesterday because I was just looking around and I must say everyone here is absolutely in love with Rolex. I was just wondering what do any of you do to still be able to afford a timepiece of this caliber with the economy the way that it is.

I'm a social worker (basically). I spend my money on the few things I love.

Also- there are a few other posts about the same thing

Yes that is the true question. Well whatever you are doing keep on doing what you do so maybe then I can do what you do and do it well enough to get my dream watch. A GMT Master II. Pepsi kind.

I'm an office administrator at a major brokerage house. So, yes, a secretary with a Rolex.

Sometimes it's not so much about how much you make, but about how you handle it.

Jeannie
I was at a Mercedes dealership and I noticed the girl at the front desk that greets people wearing a Rolex Ladies DJ with an anniversary dial with diamond markers.

My wife is an e-mail specialist and she wears a Rolex Ladies DJ. She said no one has noticed.

Yep.

I have a 16 year-old economy car, I don't buy fancy clothes or shoes or too many expensive vacations, have no kids, buy on sale, and cook food mostly at home.

And all my BMW-driving friends in $2M houses, ski or golf every weekend, and send their kids to top private schools think I'm so showy and extravagant because I wear a Rolex.

Both my wife and I chose careers that have resulted in our being at a point where we will almost certainly not have kids. Our salaries are good, not exorbitent, but not having to plan for the things having kids requires financially allows us to make some purchases, take trips, etc... we might not have otherwise.

I have a mechanical contracting company and I can tell you...i'm not buying any Rolex's at the moment. We are hurting in this part of the world. Our city is not booming at the moment nor do I see it busy for a while.....Anyway....Luxury watches are great when times are good but better to buy when times are bad....if you have the money..what a catch all!
