Do I own the two most hated Rolexes?

Please give me your take on this guys, did I really end up with the 2 most undesirable Rolexes? The two timepieces I'm referring to are:
1- Day Date II (218238). I wanted this one only coz it came in YG with the mat black dial and gold roman numerals.
2- Yacht Master II all steel.
What do you guys think?

If you wanted them, they are desirable. What others think is irrelevant.

Exactly unless the original poster thinks he might have a inferiority watch complex.

I quite like the Day Date 2. If I were you I’d just think of it as a bit more ‘select’ and sporty proportioned than a DD40. It’s definitely an interesting watch that I’d be pleased to wear any day.

YM2 is an awesome movement and captivating watch. The zeitgeist amongst forum dwellers is currently against it but that doesn’t really matter too much in the real world.

I’d be happy with those two.

No, great references and you don’t see them a lot in the wild

Post pictures so we can see them!

I feel like any DD is super cool, and the Yachtmaster ii, that one is nice too, and you hardly ever see one out on the wild.

I know there is a picture of Luke Combs (country star) wearing a gold Yachtmaster ii

Pretty cool

Plus, there was once a time when Daytona’s were really undesirable, and ADs couldn’t get rid of them

Look at the Daytona now

But what you like and will wear, not what others like

There was (and still may be) a surplus of pork bellies, so the pork producers or their marketing arm created a demand for bacon. Witness the Daytona.

You might be right. Luckily I’m not a huge Daytona fan

If you like them. What do you care?

Btw. If half the forum took the time to read about the YM2, rather than rush to snap judgement, they would realize the watch is actually a tool watch designed by Rolex for a specific purpose and it is actually an impressive mechanical achievement.

A watch is a personal item. If you like it. Why should you be concerned about what anyone else on this forum thinks?

And yet, for a good percentage of the new posters here - the opinions of perfect strangers are important...can't tell you why.

Yes. Everyone hates them. Pure hate. Hated. By all.

Not liked at all in any aspect, either.

Funny to read the milgauss comment. I have a friend who is a very good attorney, he’s not a showy guy at all, recent bought himself a Milgauss so I tend to think of this watch as somewhat of a sophisticated and intelligent purchase?!

The AirKing doesn’t get a lot of love, but the Milgauss???? Not sure about that...
