Wearing a Sub with a suit - yes or no?

I know it’s a personal preference, and I suspect that I’ll know the overall position of most on this forum, but I’d still be interested to hear everyone’s comments about the issue of whether one should wear a sub with a suit.
Thanks.

Not if we're strict, but I don't like rigidity in fashion. Therefore I would use it although a Datejust or a Day Date is preferable

Me personally, no. But if you want to play James Bond, knock yourself out.

Exactly! I've worn my Sub with suits, dinner jackets and on occasion with full tails and waistcoat. Nobody ever noticed or made a comment. And if they had I wouldn't have cared. IMHO the Sub goes with anything...

Do whatever you're comfortable with. If it's wrong, you will know it.

In my opinion a suit is meant to be "business formal" and for me this means dress watch.

Both are excellent observations!!! Besides, since my GMT II is my only Rolex it is worn with my suits or shorts and everything in between. It is not like I am picking my teeth in public or anything.

With a proper suit at a formal event or meeting, not for me.

With a suit jacket out for dinner or drinks, sure.

I've changed my opinion. In the past, I did wear Rolex sports models with a suit. I now prefer a dress watch. My wife gave me a Citizen Eco-Drive dress watch for this purpose. Now the Tudor Submariner (my current sports model) is the daily wear but, not with suit, etc.

It all depends on how important your image is to you and those that are looking at you. In most cases, that is unimportant, but there are circumstances where it is very important. The wearer should know the level of importance, but some people are not self-aware enough to understand this.
