What do I think...sorry, but I'd send it back. The dial and markers have the appearance of being artificially colored. Did you know this?

Agreed. That sheen on the "lume" does not look right at all. It's mostly on the hands, but the hour markers look suspicious too.

I wonder if it's possible it's just the hands that have been color-matched to the dial. A UV shot could provide some clues.

As a case nit-picker, I'm not crazy about the soft edges of the polished lugs. Minor compared to the dial/hands issue.

OP, sorry, we're a tough crowd, but we're here to help. Can you return the watch?

I hope you're not taking it personally, but this one is not better then the one on your previous post, if you look at the cracked hands, the soft case and the broken glass...
Considering that is not an hard reference to find I would try to returned and keep looking

Hey I am here to learn so it’s totally fine. You are saying the hands are cracked rather than colored? In my view this is better than the previous one for two reasons, less polished/rounded and matching color on hands and dial.

Returning the watch might be hard as I bought it overseas although within the EU. However it was properly shown with photos so don’t know if the seller would accept these arguments.

In comparison, how would this piece be judged by you?

When I said cracked I was looking at this photo, but may be with a loupe you can see better if I was wrong.

fullsizeoutput_107a.jpeg

On the last one is still hard to see if the hands have been colored, but I think is in better shape, look at the sharp edges:

But remember that if you're just looking for a tool watch to wear without worry and the price was right, I'm sure that yours will still do an excelent job.

Agreed with springer and swish's observation. Might wanna be careful with water ingression as the crystal looks chipped.

I'd say return if you can.

If the lume were redone would it change the value that much?

Yes, massively. The vast majority of the value is in the dial, and many hobbyists/collectors won't even consider a watch that has a relumed dial and/or hands, and that includes these "neo-vintage" watches, not just true vintage.

OP, try to take a photo of the dial/hands under a UV/blacklight. That would give you additional clues.

At a minimum, the hands have been color-matched to the dial, but the hour markers might have been relumed too.

So the seller now offered a trade in for this piece, it’s 92 but not with certificate (as the previous one) I also receive a compensation which seems ok to me. He doesn’t refuse my arguments rather are looking for me to be happy although does not seem to want to pay me back, in which I frankly doesn’t have the right to..

That’s good of him, he probably knows the hands and dial are colored in fake patina also.....

Maybe. Tough to tell. You need more and better photos. Ask for a photo under a blacklight/UV. It can give you clues about the lume. That should be standard nowadays. It ain't that hard.

Personally, I'd just ask for a refund and not deal with this seller. He previously sold you a watch that had been relumed without telling you. That's a huge red flag. You trust him to sell you a different watch now?

The 16570 polar is a pretty easy watch to find in good condition. Based on your photos and previous posts, I assume you're looking for one with aged tritium lume, but I don't know if it's worth the trade off if you end up with something in such rough shape (as others point out, it's also hard to judge the offered replacement given the poor photo).

Personally, I'd see if you can just return it and try to find the best example of a tritium polar that you can afford, even if the lume isn't exactly what you want. I understand that the heart wants what it wants, but that's the way I'd go.

Well, as mentioned getting a full refund is not likely. Seems like I have these two options, to keep the first (full set) or trade it for watch only (above) with a refund.

It does look a little suspect. Nevertheless the model is a lovely watch. I own a Swiss only dial and it’s one of my favourites.
