Question about first AP purchase: What’s not in the box.
As some of you know, I got my first AP (a grey dial 15500st) from the NYC Boutique last week.
I was required to wire funds for a first time purchase with them, and the watch was shipped to me with no warranty card, no hang tags - nothing except the watch, the box, and an invoice. Is this normal? I’ve been a Rolex, IWC, Panerai, Omega guy for years, and we all know how much stuff comes in the box with those brands. I’m assuming it’s anti-flip precaution, which I would understand in the current climate of ss sport models, etc, but my mildly “obsessive watch collector” nature won’t let it be. I’ve never flipped a watch in my life, and have no intentions of ever starting to......it’s just the first time I’ve ever received a watch from an AD with nothing but the box, the watch, and an invoice. Thanks in advance for my new-to-AP inquiry! And since I prefer posts with pics: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The wiring funds for the first purchase is normal, but did you even ask them about the other questions before posting here?
When did you express interest to them for a 15500? |

Yes, I understood that wiring was normal. No - I didn’t ask them before posting here. As I’m trying establish a relationship for future purchases I didn’t want to raise any possible concern that I might be looking to flip. Makes perfect sense to me, but glad it gave you a chuckle. I expressed interest in-person in Dec 2019. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Warranty card in 15500 is outside on the wooden box where the watch is stored.
Look at the bottom of outer (carton) box where the user manual is. Enjoy your new timepiece. |

Warranty card is outside of your wood box under the white foam. No hang tag come with the watch since last year.

Enjoy it! It’s a stunning reference. I’m currently waiting on a 15500 in silver.

and the APs you received without hangtags were directly from AD or boutique? the reason I am asking is that I traded my AP for another AP from a grey market. The new watch was bought by original owner in July 2020 and it did not come with a hang tag and I thought the dealer just lost it. Best.

Yes sir, all from nyc boutique. Prior to 2020, all watches came with tags even full stickers on the bracelet. Not anymore. |

First time non in store purchase requires wire as they want to minimise fraud and chargebacks. If it was in store first time, they will accept card as store purchases with chip and pin indemnifies the merchant from chargebacks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Definitely hurt my heart that I couldn’t charge a card, immediately pay it off, and get those 4x points......but I’m not complaining one bit. Okay, maybe just a bit.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Mine came from the Bal Harbour boutique without the hang tag, stickers (all missing but the clasp) and plastic bezel guard. All it included were the manual and warranty card.

Did anyone inquire as to why the change? Seems easy to deduce that intent is to mitigate flippers, but wondering if AP, itself, mentioned the “why” behind the policy change. |

I have collected my ROC today and mine came with fully stickered and case guards. The very same AD removed all stickers previously on my Rolexes, and not that they missed to do it on this AP. They told me its different on AP.
