I think you’re going to have a tough time with this. WG Daytona on bracelet strikes me as somewhat of an endangered species.

Nobody who put themselves on any list any time recently has got their watch. Most likely, they never will.

You don't have a tight connection with an AD, or you wouldn't need to ask the question. Without that connection, you're never getting this watch from a dealer. It's going to be secondary market or nothing.

If you are really serious go gray or more than likely you will never get one.

I think there’s a difference between getting on a list and placing an order. I understand the OP to mean the latter. Please correct me if I am wrong. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to the OP’s question, but I would be curious to hear your thoughts too.

On this one he did not take any deposit since he knows me now so well for a while
After placing order he called me to confirm that it has been placed
His estimated time frame probably 4-6

This is what I suspected. Good for you! Hope it arrives sooner.

I'm looking to order a PM Daytona myself and cannot find an AD who is willing/able to order one for me. Would love a reference to your AD.

I got mine in January 2020. It took about 6 weeks but I have a strong AD relationship.

I don’t think it would be that quick these days.

I would suspect you would be looking at several months wait. All PM watches are harder to get than a year ago. And as it is a Daytona, it would be even harder in the current climate.

Good luck

Surprised to hear this has become so unobtainable too. Is it the same for the grey dial (not meteorite!) 116509? I’ve got my eye on that one.

I see both blue and grey are available (used) on the secondary market for barely, like 3%, above msrp on Chrono24 so there’s always that.

Did your SA ask for deposit? If you did put some deposit and you're the only person on the list, it should take less than one year. Normally most of ADs get these sought after timepieces 2 per year.

I got my YG Daytona green dial within 2 months and three months later I got WG Pepsi meteorite dial. I think I got lucky with the timing.

I’m in a similar position with a similar reference. I was told 4-6 months. How long did your AD quote you?

If you placed an order and gave a deposit I bet you’ll see it within 6 months.

I don't think you can order these. At least that is what my AD said, allocation only.

I'm sure an AD may take a deposit, but I don't think Rolex is filling orders for any Daytona, SS or PM.

Rolex isn’t accepting special orders so they must be pulling from their own pending stock. That’s a good sign for you

Kicking myself for not ordering one 1 1/2 years ago. Oh well... beautiful watch though. Have my name down at a couple places for one. One place told me I’m the third person on their list so that’s not terrible. But we will see.

The more you spend, the more you are likely to get a piece you want. A friend of mine has received white ceramic, black ceramic and JM daytona all in the last 2 years. He put his name for a JM last year and got it in Feb / March 2021

With what I consider a great SA relationship history, I just waited 6 months for the Steel dial WG Daytona.....I was however offered the blue dialed model during that term and turned it down.

I have a fairly good relationship with my AD and he said there's also 2 VIP's in front of me for this watch and they have been waiting a long time. He couldn't accept any special orders for this. I went gray on this one just recently. I love it. It's slowly rising as well. In USA, its going for 20%-30% over msrp. Hard watch to obtain from AD. Stunner to say the least.

I think you should ask.

I was offered one in 2019 as a walk in to an AD I buy from. They couldn’t get me what I wanted but had this come in that day so I bought it. So no wait.

The other AD I use more frequently were quoting around 3 months, maybe up to 6. This was in 2019, but you might get lucky.
