Bumping to a colleague having an earlier Speedy
So this happened today, I was outside the office having a break and one colleague noticed my Speedy, I know him for almost 3 years but we have different office locations, I was in the downtown offices today, anyway he approached me and said he noticed my Speedy great watch we started a nice conversation about Moonwatch the landing etc
Then he says I also have one and was serviced long time ago approx 2008 should I service again now….sure why not if it is not keeping good time I said….well actually he says I serviced after I received from my dad and he pass away some time ago….and then he says you know it’s a little bit different from yours anyway …..in that moment I realized that has to be something special…received from his father etc…what year you bought i asked ….he doesn’t know but he remembers his father wearing all the time and something with 80’s ….he says I have on mine a red hand and the bracelet is broken ….OOOOOOK I said is the omega logo on the clasp or sitting outside with big omega logo and I showed him the flat link Omega bracelet : Yes yes it like this flat with big Omega logo Well I just realized that it could be an 145.012? I asked do you have patina on the markers hands you know ? Yea yes he said Showed him some photos and it looks like this I have asked him to come next week and see it in the flesh but man what a nice conversation realizing what looks like a lot of history behind that watch I’m really hoping to be what it looks like but let’s see |
