Which watch do you wear to work around your property/home?

Glanced down to check the time while I was clearing a fence line and it got me thinking… “I wonder for how many folks these watches are still tools?” I take mine off when doing anything that may obviously damage it but otherwise I have always worn my watches while working. Do you tool your tool watches?

Yes. I pretty much do what you do. The only one I wore exclusively to the office or in more formal occasions was my DJ41.

That’s what I do in the morning too. I put on a watch as soon as I wake up. Actually mine has an extra step, I take off my Apple Watch first then put on the “proper” watch.

I wear Apple Watch to sleep on weekdays for the alarm function.

My grail. Waited alooooong time for it and I won’t not enjoy it. Goes to work goes to the mountains re seeded the lawn built a fence with it. True tool watch.

Which ever one is in rotation. I swap my watches out every week and they get worn for everything other than high risk stuff like painting!

Beater watches for beater projects.

If I know I’m going to be digging into a car project or banging through the brush I’m wearing a Casio or gshock.

I always were a watch but depending on the projects and activities of the day I dress accordingly. I’m not going to wear my tux operating the chainsaw

I did yard work on Wednesday & wore my 1999 Air King.
When finished & showered, I went back to my YG Day Date 36.

I usually do a few swaps throughout the day. Basically I wear my rolexes when I’m with the kids and switch to the lange when I’m alone.

A few months ago when my youngest one was sick he vomitted all over himself…and my watch. Boy was I glad I was wearing the rolex. A quick rinse and it was good as new.

Why would it of mattered if it was the Lange out of curiosity? Leather strap?

Yes, my main concern is the leather strap. My understanding is it will also require more work cleaning the Lange as it is only splash resistant.

Really does that mean would it concern you to wear it when raining then? I’ve been looking to buy one myself for a long time.

I wouldn’t be concerned wearing it in the rain (really depends on the amount of rain and the duration). Having said that, I’m in the habit of checking the weather ahead of time so I can wear long sleeves to cover it. But I put it on whenever I can, even if just for 20-30 min. I just got mine 6 months ago, so I’m “babying” it more than my other watches.

Honestly doesn’t matter to me at this point, I have gone through phases of being over careful with watches In the past, it doesn’t matter what I’m doing anymore the watch stays on my wrist whether It’s a £300 or a £100k watch.

I wear my Tudor Submariner to work (I'm a United Methodist minister). I wear my Casio Illuminator at home, exercise and yard work. Yes, the Submariner could take the abuse but, I find it not quite as comfortable.

I would add that in my military life (now retired) I wore a now flipped GMT Master in all types of conditions. I had a Casio then as well but, wanted my GMT with me.
