One thing you hate about your Rolex!
Ok so I will start…. I love all my watches and really have a hard time picking my favorite. My most recent purchase is a GMT-II BLRO. I love this watch, it gets a lot of wrist time. But I wear all my watches and rotate. So it’s not uncommon for me not to wear a couple of my watches for a week or two at a time. Changing the date on the GMT is very annoying especially if it’s been about 2 weeks since it’s been running.
Either way this watch is a stunner and isn’t going anywhere! What is one thing you dislike about one of your watches Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No enough wrist time for some. More recently it's been hyperawareness of my surroundings given the climate of robberies for watches which has dramatically lowered the satisfaction of wearing one.

The only thing i hate about watches - Rolex or other brands - is only being able to wear one. I guess i could put one on each wrist but i doubt many do this - it would feel ridiculous. So only being able to wear one keeps my collection small because i hate owning expensive things not being used for purpose. And I’m well aware many of you rotate but that doesn’t sit well with me because - and this is just my hang up I’m sure - it feels to me that I don’t really like the watch I’ve got on enough not to change it. I want to build histories with too many Rolex references is my hate. I have a hard enough time not wearing my Speedie (let alone my Seamaster) because my Explorer trumps them.
So Ideally i want 4 arms. Didn’t Hunter S Thompson wear two GMTs on the same wrist set to different time zones…? Last edited by rgwarden; 7 October 2022 at 12:04 AM.. Reason: Making more sense! |

I would not wear a Rolex of any model, because the thieves can spot a Rolex a mile away, they know its potential worth, and untill these premium prices stop, Rolex will always be a target.

Wear it on a strap, problem solved. Never heard of a sub on a nato getting stolen. And so Many people wear a Rolex, I can barely tell what is what these days. A black sub - like anyone can tell for sure from a distance what you’re wearing. Not a chance. Even a Batman bezel looks black if it’s not in the light. And there’s so many a similar looking watches from other brands, no thief can tell for sure unless they get a close long look at your wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The hyper awareness is something that bothers me as well. There was a time I really didn’t care - they were just nice watches. Nowadays I always have to be very aware about my surroundings. Eg, wearing long sleeve shirts in London during summer sucks.

I wear polos almost every day - short sleeve. Never felt in danger. London is no worse than other cities - everyone wears a Rolex these days. I’ve walked past 2 Batmans, 1 polar and a Daytona, 5 digit sub today, within 200 meters. Everyone in short sleeves. Asked a guy for a light a while later - black gmt on nato. The cyclops, some of the protruding case backs, non-curved lugs, lack of quality AR on the crystal, To large of clasp and the chromalite 3 minute lume. Oh, and service wait time.
There, I got it off my chest! All minor gripes.

Its the cyclops for me. Reminds me of "Mad Eye Moody" every time I see one!

Of the 5 Rolex I currently own, the only things I dislike are the tin-foil clasp, and rattly-rattly hollow centre links of my 14060M. And since ceramic bezel inserts came along, I'm also not much of a fan of the anodised insert either. Basically the 14060M needs to go and I need to find a NOS 114060 instead.
Other than that I can genuinely say there is nothing about the other 4 that I dislike. Literally nothing!

I would agree 100%. But, those older models feel light on the wrist and are quite comfy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a 116660 DSSD and cannot see the Renault due to the domed crystal.
Otherwise absolutely in love with it!

Not being able to see the Rolex Rolex Rolex engraving due to the thick Crystal is one of it's most endearing features of the watch and a big factor in why I bought it at the time. Now my eyesight isn't quite what it used to be and it doesn't matter anymore |

I don't necessarily appreciate the thickness at times.
But it is what it is. I can't complain overall as some initially mistake my DSSD for being a Sub with how it looks on my wrist. |

It's the stainless steel! Apparently we've run out. Gold is readily available however.

Very questionable image at the moment, which is a shame

I don't like how the gold on my Daytona scratches so easily. Minor annoyance, but still a shock when I got my first scratch on it. (EEK!)
The bracelet on my 16610 Sub feels less solid than I would like. My vintage OP has a 19mm strap and I can't find one that I like that is available in that size. First world problems - right?? PDG |
