Icon5 Why aren’t we seeing more of these Tudorseses around here?

1926 41mm would be a great addition for many here.

What say you all?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s a few members with these Tudoreses. It’s a great watch but there are several factors preventing a more prominent presence on the forum.

- It’s an older style
- Sellita movement
- Dress style aesthetic
- It’s a Tudor

Mind you, none of these are actual shortcomings, but many members are just into shiny Rolexeses.

Cause it's the poor cousin in the poor man's Rolex lineup.

.

..

...

On a serious note, I was underwhelmed when I first saw it online.

Did a full 180 when I tried one on.

Having been on the waiting list for a 214270 and then Rolex in their infinite wisdom decided to withdraw the 39mm model, I tried the 114270 in 36mm and bought a Tudor Ranger. I for one am very glad of the Tudor offering and think the Ranger fills the void of a premium retro explorer watch perfectly.

I'm grabbing the next one of these that hits my AD. The bracelet has glidelock and can be installed on a BB58 instead of the rivets (if they bug you). That's an oyster bracelet with adjustable clasp for $3,000

I don't think Tudor should be on the Rolex forum.
Tudor should have their own, it's like having Toyota on the Lexus forum

I have owned a 1926 41mm for a couple of years and its a nice watch.

However when I am slumming it with the Tudor plebs I wear a brown paper bag over my head to prevent the elite Rolex wearing community shouting abuse and pouring scorn on me.

The movement seems too small for the case, judging by the date placement and size.

Now I can’t unsee that!

I think the Ranger looks great.

I’m on the fence about modern watches looking vintage.

Last year I got a circa ‘78 Tudor Princess Sub Date, blue dial and bezel, in the snowflake version (9091/0). Rolex of course never made a Submariner in a women’s size, let alone a blue dial SS Sub. It has the Rolex case and crown, and the older Rolex foldover link bracelet. It was not a safe queen, and definitely looks old with its faded bezel and cream-colored lume. Its vintage look is its charm, though. It’s my fly under the radar watch, as there’s nothing else like it.

I do like the 5-digit Rolex watches (my husband has a 16613 and 16710) but to me, part of what makes them cool is that they aren’t made any more.

On the other hand, vintage watches often aren’t as durable, and can be a minefield to purchase. I totally get why people love them, and they do look great and timeless. I’m just not sure I could buy one.

That's why they're exclusively for a just a few of us... and are so interesting.

Welcome to vintage!

P.S. No, I don't drive with my hat on.

I like it, and think it's a great bargain amongst the Tudor lineup. However, it should probably have been 31/34/36 (ok, add 39 if you must) given how narrow the bezel is. Also should have been dateless and strap-only.

It does not say Rolex on the dial. Wearing a Rolex means I am rich. Wearing a Tudor means I cannot yet afford a Rolex...

haha.. that actually hurt to type because there are people that actually believe that.

I concerned with these comments. It seems our Forum has failed at Tudoring.

Reminds me of the time one forum member told someone "nice Daytona!" - reply was "it's not a Daytona, it's a Rolex!".

I think it's a pretty nice watch but I prefer the Ranger. I'm a no date type person.

I like that watch, but I'd choose I'd choose the 36mm case.

I quite agree . I'd probably go strap but am partial to the 36. Part of me wishes that this piece came in a 34, too.

I picked this one…

And that’s after ditching a Platona.

I liked the semblance of the 1655 around the bezel - a cool factor.

I like Tudor but that model looks more Tissot than Tudor.
