Which DJ36 dial color is the best in your opinion?

Hey! My first post here, glad I joined!

Need some help from you I guess.. I spent last few weeks considering different options from Rolex portfolio because I decided to finally add a Rolex watch to my collection, something like a gift to myself for several achievements. I tried numerous GMTs, OPs, Submariners, Explorers and Datejusts, mostly by meeting helpful people from internet forums/facebook groups, can't try them at ADs in Poland of course... Eventually I made my decision: 126234 (new ref.) Datejust in 36mm fluted bezel + jubilee bracelet. The only thing that I didn't decide yet is the color of the dial.. I narrowed the choice to three: black, blue, silver. I tried wimbledon, green, blue motif, palm motif - didn't like them for few reasons. The thing I care about the most is that I want this Rolex to be the most "classic" look I can achieve. Do you have any "experience" with any of these colors? Maybe you regret choosing one of them after some time?

Current collection: Omega Speedmaster 3861, Tudor BB58 black, vintage Omega Seamaster, Herbelin Classique, Seiko Sports 5

What would you choose in this case: black, blue or silver?

Thanks!

#1 the bracelet and bezel you've chosen is "the most classic".
#2 the colors you've chosen are each a "classic".
#3 listen to what your heart tells you is your favorite color.

Welcome to the forum.

I would be very surprised if there wasn't one of these that YOU preferred the most. There has to be a favorite here. I can't see how you'd like all these dials equally.

But since you are asking us....Blue. All day.

For me, my pick would be blue (because it's my favorite color) Black always works as well. But ultimately I went with silver recently when I purchased my DJ41 126334. It has grown on me quite a bit since I acquired the piece.

If I had 2 DJ's, One would be blue. But the Silver looks really good and classic. It's a beautiful watch and glad I have it. The appearance of the bezel sparkle and jubilee bracelet blends well with silver giving the whole watch a bright elegant look.

Blue every day, then black. The silver dial is nice but extremely hard to read in the sunlight like the champagne dial.

I have the blue(although with smooth bezel). It REALLY stands out beautifully.

The new Mint dial is also really nice.

But because that’s out: blue.

Silver is actually the best. I've owned them all.

Went through the same choice when buying my wife hers.
And after seeing them all in the flesh went with the blue.

Every time she wears it now, I can’t stop starring at it. It’s a beautiful dial that changes tone depending on lighting.
Simply beautiful and classy.

One thing I find is that any color dial other than black or white/silver are fine but not as an only watch daily wearer.

The blue is gorgeous and I have blue watches but I find I tire of them somewhat after a few days. That goes for yellow, green and other dial colors as well.

Where as black or a white/silver dial I can wear indefinitely.

If you just plan on adding it for a part of a collection and not worn all the time, I might chose the blue in this instance.

Blue for sure. You already have black dialed watches. Silver is nice but blue is stunning.

White batons. Since that’s unavailable, silver.

I love the silver. Looks great. And I find this to be the most classic of the options you listed, especially in the 36mm.

Beautiful watch - my exact choice. Did you get it from an AD? If so, how long was the wait?

I have the blue dial and it is really beautiful and gives a nice sporty look. However, I think silver is the most timeless and classic. I have two datejusts, a 126234 and a 1601 on a strap.

Wow, I'm amazed by so many replies! Thank all of you! Seems like the most common answer is blue but I will wait a little bit - maybe there will be more answers. I've only seen black dial in previous reference of DJ (the one with "super jubilee" bracelet) and it seemed like a smaller watch but I know it might be different view in new reference.

Blue first, then silver - you have other watches with black dials. Good luck with your search.

Had the blue and black, between the two I say blue. Never had silver, looks solid though.

36mm DJ with fluted bezel and a jubilee bracelet is extremely classic, especially with those dial choices. My vote and purchase would be silver...the most "boring" choice, but also the most timeless and will always be in style.

In my opinion, the most classic look in my order.

1- Black dial
2- Silver dial
3- Blue dial

All three are beautiful. Saw the mint green 36mm DateJust, and its a beauty.

Can’t go wrong with any of these.

The fluted/jube combo is the best combination imo..just go with your dial colour preference.

There are simply no bad choices here..

If it’s an everyday watch, then blue (or black if that is your style). If mainly as a dress piece, then silver imo
