Yellow Gold Hulk Sub
I am curious if it’s possible to create a yellow gold hulk by swapping the dial and bezel on a black or blue ceramic sub.
Also what would be the most cost effective way to make this Frankenstein? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It would have WG surrounds on the dial, the bezel would be meant for SS
So WHY???? It wont look cool, it will look like a bad fake.

Loads of issues with trying to do this. Firstly getting hold of a genuine green dial and green insert is nigh on impossible. And if not impossible, ridiculously expensive. Then as WatchTimes says, the dial will have WG markers instead of YG markers. Additionally the bezel insert will have platinum inlaid markers instead of gold which is what comes on YG models. You may be able to find a modification company that would change all the markers and redo the bezel markers for you. But again it'll be at a significant cost. Then even if you didn't change the markers, etc, and the mismatch doesn't bother you, you'll still have to get someone to make all the changes to a YG Submariner (which isn't an inexpensive piece of kit in the first place) for you. And even if you DO manage to do all that stuff you'll end up with something that will look like a $100 fake. (Oh and if it means anything to you, the value of the whole will definitely not add up to the cost of the parts!) EDIT - Similar to what Blanch said above, but I've typed it now, so it's staying!

It can be done, but to do it right would be costly. Total custom job.
The LV Hulk dial would need to have the markers swapped out from white gold to yellow gold, which is easily done from the original gold submariner blue or black dial. Same with the gold hands. The bezel stays the same, only the insert is swapped out from black or blue, to the green LV Hulk insert. The insert markers would need to be refilled with yellow gold. Hulk dials and inserts are quite expensive. Labor would be expensive too, due to the swapping of the individual markers on the dial and the gold filling on the insert numbers. An easier route is to get the gold GMT 116718 and swap in an aftermarket green insert. |

Would it be more cost effective to buy a black yellow gold sub and naked hulk?
I agree hulk parts are very expensive but a naked hulk isn’t terrible. 15-17k. The only dial I found is 10k and insert is 2800. Take the bezel inlay and dial from the hulk. Replace the parts I took on the hulk with a black sub dial and black bezel inlay and just sell that watch. Then as the other gentleman said put the hulk dial in the gold sub and use the gold hour markers from the gold black dial. I’m sure the the inlay is a bitch to put in but if someone could put it in the gold bezel I would certainly lay gold into the numbers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You are creating a watch that will come off as fake to everyone.
WHY JUST WHY? If you insist on doing this contact Bamford or one of those companies.
