Day-Date on leather strap

I’ve been wondering if many (any?) on TRF have this version of the watch. I don’t see many on here. I’d love to start a thread if others have the modern, now discontinued, iteration of this watch. They were introduced in 2013 and discontinued in 2019.

I have ref 118135 (brown/chocolate dial and strap) and love wearing it. I think it works great at 36mm.

Other regular production dial colors that I’m aware of are blue, green, rhodium, cherry, and cognac.

I think there were two 118138s (with green and cognac dials) and two 118139s (with red and blue dials), all with matching leather straps.

I didn’t know there were also 118135s in Everose with brown dials like yours, nor any with rhodium dials - Is the rhodium dial also a 118135 in an Everose case? Did it come with a matching gray strap?

I believe I’ve also seen a couple of these with carousel dials - A YG/green 118138 (idk if it’s enamel or jade but iirc, someone here said that these later green carousel dials are jade) and a pink MOP one, which I’d guess was a 118135 mounted in Everose.

If that’s correct, it seems likely that there is also a carousel dial version of the WG 118139 (if only for symmetry’s sake), but I don’t recall ever seeing one. Does anyone know?

I found this pic, but it only shows 5 of them - No rhodium nor carousel dials
.

The rhodium dial came with a rose gold case and black strap. Otherwise, yes, there were a few other dial variations with diamonds, etc.

I didn’t know these existed! Very cool!

If I had lots of $$$, I would try to build the set. Thanks for posting!

It was definitely a super fun run of the day-date.

My first DD36, an 1803, came on a leather bracelet. I managed to source a president bracelet for it which I preferred. Yours looks great but I do prefer the bracelet!

Looks awesome!!! To me even the DD is kind of a sports watch, that’s why I prefer a bracelet. With that said, that watch is beautiful.

I like the older 18038 or 18238 on leather straps. Classic 36mm DayDate and leather look good.

Agreed, the DD looks super on a bracelet. I like this because it’s toned down and brings me a ton of satisfaction.

Beautiful piece. I saw a RG / Blue dial once at an AD while traveling. How I wish I had purchased it. Sigh.

I agree. It’s the presence of a Day Date but toned down a little with the strap. I like this short run of them. The brown/rose and cognac and green yellow gold are my favorite.

The cognac and green are two of my favorite as well.

It can be. It also wears casually surprisingly well.

I'm a sucker for YG on a strap.

That looks absolutely beautiful.

I have the rhodium dial watch with Rolex brown strap. It's a beautiful 36mm Day Date.
Reference 118135-0005, movement is the 48-hour 3155. The brown crocodile leather strap has a reference 214229.

Here’s a pic of mine, sorry I don’t have wrist pics handy. My first Rolex. Purchased as new old stock from an AD in late 2021.

I ended up getting a stainless SkyDweller a couple months afterwards from the same AD.

It’s a beautiful watch. My wife really wants the yellow gold and green version, like everyone else lol
