Titanium YM - any comparison pics?
For those that have this wonderful piece, can you share pictures on your wrist and compare with any other Rolexes? Also if you could specify your wrist diameter?
From what I’ve seen, despite it being 42mm with the matte black bezel and a larger bezel than the sub and gmt, making the dial face smaller, it wears well even on average size wrists. |

I took a bunch of wrist shots comparing Rolex 42mm options but I held the camera too close, so they all look too big as a result. Rookie mistake
![]() I can tell you the YM42Ti has shorter lugs than other 42mm Rolex timepieces and thus wears better on smaller wrists. At 11.6mm it is also the thinnest Rolex sports model which helps too. Most haters can't get over it being 42mm because 42 is evidently a very scary number, but on the wrist it's a friendly option for most male wrists. My wife can wear the YM42 and YM42Ti just fine, but the EXPII and Sky-D look silly on her. The YM definitely wears better and can be enjoyed by a wider range of wrists.

I tried one on back at Christmas.
IMHO it wears about like a Submariner. Similar thickness and from overhead view about the same wrist real estate. What struck me most were the large markers (at least they appeared larger from memory) and the somewhat stark color scheme of the metal and bezel. |

YM42/YM42Ti markers are the largest in the Rolex catalog, even a tad larger than the Explorer II. The lume show is great and I like the dial just as it is. My eye was trained to the EXPII so Submariner dials look small as a result. Here is the YM42 226659 vs EXPII 226570 lume contest. YM42 won the title of Rolex Lume King. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you for posting this … they struck me as much larger. I was wearing my BLRO at the time and it dwarfed them ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Some pics....42mm Land Sea and Air
Have 3 42mm dials, definitely the most comfortable of all 3 followed closely by the explorer and then the skydweller which you can really feel on the wrist.....wrist is 7 inches

Thanks! Amazing piece. It looks like it wears very well, glad to hear people say so as well.
I’m hoping for one from my AD. Though I’m not holding my breath.. I think I’ve used up my allocation for the time being. |

When I tried the Ti YM on last summer I was immediately struck on how well it wore on my 6.75” wrist. For me, it is a much better fit than my Sub.

Awesome to hear. I’m 7.25” so I think I’ll be really happy with how it wears. I started the other post on the ultimate go anywhere do anything Rolex… this is the one for me. |

I have this exact combination. I think they make a great pair. Two very unique models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am undetermined if one will win out over the other. I love subs and the green is a special one. I really like titanium watches as I am one to wear my watch all the time and titanium never weight never gets tiring. I remember when the ginormous Deepsea challenge came out. While that watch is crazy big and totally impractical, I really liked the titanium part. I like the almost fun metal grey color and the way Rolex brushed the titanium in all the right ways and places. When they came out with the titanium yacht master, it immediately hit my radar. For all the reasons I have states. As others have said, if you can, keep both for a while and see which one makes you happier. Or just keep both. They are both very different and very special pieces. Good luck on your decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you for these! The YM 42 and the Pelagos 39 I hope are precursors to Rolex of the next decade.

![]() ![]() My wrist is 6.5” or so and I think it fits fairly well. I love the light feeling of the titanium. I have a Citizen eco-drive titanium that I loved and this reminds me of that. I have to admit the giant plots and hands took me a little time to get use to. But there is no missing what time it is. I have always worn submariners but I think the titanium yacht master is a nice alternative. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That looks really good on a 7” wrist. I tried on the Explorer II, but felt it wore too big. I think it’s the smaller bezel which makes for a larger dial. Additionally I tried on the polar (white dial is very cool since Rolex mostly does black dial sports watches), so I think part of it is the fact that it’s a white dial as well. Lastly the lug width is bigger too. Anyways, was interested in the Explorer II but after trying one on, decided it wasn’t for me. |

I'm glad to see that people are getting allocated the Ti YM42. Not one AD I work with has ever seen one in person much less allocating one! So far the titanium is unobtainium in my part of the US. Congrats to all who got the call on this cool watch. I can see it getting a lot of wrist time when I get one.

I'm really intrigued by it but like others said, it appears to be unobt(it)anium.
Can any of the lucky owners shine some light on what their ADs said and what their relationship with their ADs is? I'm tempted to go with a Pelagos during the wait to scratch that titanium itch. |

My AD is a Rolex only boutique. I have a fairly decent spend history with them as well as a great relationship but was told by the store director that they would be very scarce. Basically “don’t hold your breath” when I inquired shortly after the release. Fast forward to a few months ago, I had set up a day to go see my SA and hang out for a few minutes(which I often do) and they surprised me with it. They said it was only the second one that they’ve seen. I actually re purchased the Pelagos at one point while waiting and it scratched the itch briefly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Don’t own it, but tried one on at my AD recently. Nicely finished with brushed and polished contrasts. Beautiful matte dial and I liked the ceramic bezel insert. The watch fit on my wrist like my 42 mm Explorer II. Bigger or broader than a GMT Master or Submariner, but flatter on my wrist like the Explorer II. The watch was crazy light though, especially in contrast to the gold or heavy stainless steel watches I typically wear. It’s neat to see Rolex do a watch like this.
