Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified - available in stores!
So Omega introduced the Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified as a normal production watch - available in stores.
Love the entirety except for the big measurements. Almost an ideal tool watch from Omega. Finally. bibbi |

Cool!
Beautiful, fresh chronograph with a great bracelet. The size of 40.85mm is great and the 100m WR is also sufficient. The entire design appeals to me, especially the color scheme and the ghost hands. |

14.7mm thickness is a deal breaker.

Is the “real” flight qualified also 14.7 thick?

I like that it looks distinct!
I think the size is in line with most of the speedmaster offshoots, but agree with most others that it's still too big. They need to give it the 3861 treatment. I also think the speedmaster as a tool watch is kind of missing it's place in today's world. Heritage I understand, but there are just better watches thesedays for pilots. I would have like to seen an updated X33, if anything. |

Fratello has a review up including a side profile pic. It’s a chunky watch for sure.
https://www.fratellowatches.com/hand...ed-with-video/ I generally like it despite the thickness, but without a lumed second/chronograph hand, I’m not sure how it would be flight qualified given the need to read seconds in night situations? |

I agree with some others. Visually it looks very cool, but the size, especially lug to lug, is way too big for me to ever consider this.

I quite like it, but it’s a bit big L2L for my liking.

It’s 40.85 mm. I love the look. This will be added to my shortlist.

Do pilots really still use this? Or smartwatches nowadays?

There’s a thread on Omega Forums of several pilots wearing their commissioned pieces in flight. https://omegaforums.net/threads/wth-...4/post-2397764
I know pilots are often into watches, but have no idea how often their timepieces accompany them in the clouds. |

It's a name to entice. Pilots wear and use a variety of watches; this one is wishful thinking by Omega.
Get one if you like it but don't expect to see many pilots to toss their favorites for it.

Interesting. It seems to honor Flightmaster models from the '60s and '70s, which were seriously chunky watches.
My sense is there will be some enthusiasts who will purchase this, but I doubt sales volumes will make the headlines. |

Not for me. Some interesting comments on watch websites. I think it is another lazy release in a year of lazy releases from Omega.

In my eyes a Speedmaster should always be a no-date. Any Speedy with a date is automatically disqualified from consideration.

FWIW, I think the white Speedy was maybe release of the year. I have also put my name in on this. I rather like it. |

I may be the only one that does not like this version.
It looks kinda......clownish to me, but that's just me. My opinion. |
