Drones

I’d imagine everyone is aware of the drones flying over New Jersey, parts of Pennsylvania, and other states. Many of these drones are as large as an SUV.

So what are they? Who’s responsible? Why is this allowed to happen? What’s the end game?

I know there are Ham Radio operators on here. Presumably, the drones are controlled by RF transmissions. Why can’t they track down the source using sophisticated radio receivers?

What are they saying on TV news?

If they are, 'unfriendly', then its a serious security breakdown and your CAA, will be freaking out!

BBC
23 November 2024
A number of unidentified drones have been spotted over three airbases in Britain, the United States Air Force (USAF) has confirmed.

I'm hearing Richard Burton:
"No one would have believed
In the last years of the nineteenth century
That human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space
No one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized
As someone with a microscope studies creatures that
Swarm and multiply in a drop of water"
.......cue the music.

Something of that size and quantity, they know.

IMO, military/government testing.

I'm going with weather balloons.

Whenever the govt/military is doing nefarious stuff, it's always a "weather balloon".

Drones used for commercial purposes must be operated by a FAR Part 107 pilot. A drone this size is surely commercial and the owner surely knows the regulations governing its operation in US airspace.

My guess is contractors working under some US government contract. They could be filming bat migrations for all we know. But someone knows exactly what's going on and has filed appropriate documents, as required, to conduct the flights. The fact that no one is owning it tells me it's likely a DoD or NSA activity.

There’s a report stating that these drones “go dark” when officials launch their own drones to investigate them. Basically, all the lights shut off and they can’t read any signals from them. That sounds like something we should be worried about.

I’m personally not sure about the govt/military being responsible for this. Why would they do this over populated areas? They could test these at an air base that is heavily restricted. Why New Jersey?

Why not New Jersey? There are test ranges there too.

If you are testing spyware, populated areas are the place to do it.

Yeah, but they don’t need drones for testing spyware. We know the technology exists to monitor everyone’s internet activity, phone calls, messaging, etc., without having to launch a drone.

If it is the government, i wouldn’t want to be the officials in charge of this one month from now.

We have systems that can detect a missile traveling greater than the speed of sound from thousands of miles away with pinpoint accuracy.

But multiple drones the size of a RAV4 is just beyond their capabilities ?

A simple government agency lie detector test is to simply check their pulse, if they have one, they’re lying.

One thing that is highly suspicious is the timing. This all started one week after the election and two months before inauguration. Hopefully this thread won’t go sideways because I said that, but facts are facts.

Now we have drones—the size of SUVs—flying over military installations, critical infrastructure such as reservoirs, and other sensitive areas. It sounds like a plot for a James Bond like movie.

Or the timing could be matched against Ukraine’s use of US medium- and longer-range weapons against Russian targets or certain actions in the middle east, or pronouncements on future tariff policy or the return of the McRib…

As for it falling through the cracks despite our ability to (somewhat) consistently intercept large missiles… consider we also have the ability to decimate mosquito populations en masse and STILL find ourselves getting bitten on warm summer evenings… potential capabilities are not equally deployed against all threats and when a system is positioned against one threat type, that same system may fail against something that looks quite different.

Hmmm... so, who / what do we hate this week? Or is this something just waiting for patsy to pin it on?

Bet you it is aliens from Uranus testing the worst ---hole on Earth... New Jersey. ;-)

I mean, really, New Jersey? ptfptfptfptf

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another country taking advantage of our transitory state of government. There is no shortage of candidates.

You got one guy going out, the other guy is coming in. To use a hockey metaphor, this is like a power play for the other team.

Jersey has a bad reputation. But it’s not so bad. Really quite nice with a lot of benefits.

If I were an alien, I’d definitely think about Jersey as a target for my curiosity.

If you were Bigfoot and you were looking to turn down the heat on you, wouldn't something like this make a lot of sense? I mean, no one's going to spot you if everyone's looking up, searching for drones.

It is a concern, however, and people should know what is happening and why. Hate and blame seem to flourish where there is lack of transparency.

One thing that is refreshing about this is that both republicans and democrats seem united and together on this. They’re working together and want answers. At least that’s the case at the state level in NJ.

Interesting part about electronic cloaking when being "observed". That seems more coincidental than causal. I think we need some of the champs of DRL to send up some faster ones to get a close-up.

The sizes being reported, and recent media channel video, suggest a VTOL fixed-wing type. Something like this:

They are assembled on-site, wingspans vary 6-12', overall length approach 10', payloads nearing 50 lbs.

At night I could understand people estimating them the size of a vehicle.

By now, because the operators clearly know they have been observed, continued silence leads to wild speculation ranging from unfriendly state-sponsored spying to alien (a'la War of the Worlds) observers.

So much fun debating the mystery.

New Jersey is a relatively small state, but it’s still 7350 square miles. Plus, these drones are being seen in PA and NY, too.

So, when we say operators, clearly this is a large-scale coordinated effort. It doesn’t seem likely that it’s one or two guys managing all this.

Here’s an interesting video. An experienced drone pilot is saying that if he flew a drone like this, he’d have law enforcement all over him within 10 minutes.

Maybe they’re flying over New Jersey because the Chinese, Russian, or Iranian ship is anchored off the Jersey coast.
