Week On The Wrist: H. Moser Streamliner Purple Haze
Love it, love the comfort, and is my new daily. Decided to wear it on the slightly looser side so that when my wrist expands it’s still not tight. Easy to read day or night, and did I mention SUPER-premely comfortable to wear. Speaking of, it has in fact been 11 days, and wear her 24/7, with the only exception being when showing (a few watchmakers finally convinced me about the crud buildup when daily showering….). The dial is a nice deep purple most of the time within a normally-lit indoor room, tho yes under bright lights a plumb-color does shine through. In a darkened movie theater, the dial is a very deep purple. Thankfully, even for my old eyes, the nicely sized luminous hands make reading the time very easy. Hmmm… what else? Oh, she is -6 seconds (total) after 11 days 24/7 wrist time. While Moser could have just stuffed the 'classic' HMC 200 in-house mechanical movement in there, the new eye-candy skeletonized HMC 201 movement is a feast of fun for your eyes! Love my Moser blue dial Heritage for their classic dial, case, and HM 200 movement style as you see in those 1960s old-guy-school ‘Trinity’ brands. Perhaps wanting to spice up things up a bit to the next level, the Streamliner has its new HMC 201 movement that surely steps things up quite a bit! Bring a 10x loop when you visit your AD and compare H. Moser to…. I triple-dog dare you : ) Wrist balance is exceptional, like reeeeally nice! Case thickness is fine when wearing, and the curves on the case feel as silky and sensual to the touch as they look captivating to the eyes. Like a fine silk and cashmere mix (almost said silk and linen, yet after some touch-tests, definitely feels more like cashmere than linen). Most comfortable bracelet in my collection, and why the H. Moser Streamliner Purple Haze is now my daily wear. The bracelet is incredible visually, the best within my collection as well imho. You reeeeeeeally need to see it in person and understand how the mutely reflected light moves and flows like water over and around the bracelet and case’s supple curves. Sure YouTube videos are nice, yet seeing it in person is best IMHO. So, what else… go see a Streamliner at your local H. Moser AD, and also the Pioneer with red dial if possible, but we have to remember these pieces are…. H. Moser Rare. Very Rare.

It's been about a month and i have not even thought about, even briefly, wearing another. It has been a very long time since that's happened, and it was the first-release Rolex Sky-Dweller SS Blue.
Wearing comfort is mind-blowing (!!!!!!!!!), and i prefer it being on the slightly looser side. Very easy to read at 3pm... and 3am. Accuracy has settled in to ~0.5 sec / day. Love the Streamliner's shape and the Purple Haze dial has immensely incredible personality. A very strong buy and a forever keeper.

I think that dial looks extremely sexy.
I did try on the green one a few years ago and found it wore smaller than I was expecting. My wrist is not large but a little flat. I then tried on the perpetual calendar and really enjoyed that one. If I take the plunge I think it will be with the perpetual calendar. Thanks for the photos. Looks amazing and a great watch in a collection. |
