Somehow I acquired a new 116520 black dial.
It has snickered at me for quite sometime from the safe and I enjoy torturing myself not caving to it.
I kid myself it is actually an investment piece

What's the collateral damage of ripping off the stickers and slapping that bad boy on ?
I do have several other watches i kinda rotate.

Salud!

Once you pull the stickers you might as well run over it with your car.

Wear it.

Idk today probably 2-3k in 50 years no idea. My advice is to sell it and buy something you really want to wear. Usually if I have something like that, I wear it and then sell it 6 months later annoyed lol

A few K ? $2-3K more or less. It would be very hard for me! Daytona’s are irresistible to me. I would wear it and enjoy it, who cares about the money! Unless you don’t want it.
I have trouble with that too.

Cheers,,

I did the opposite. Took the stickers off and wore it daily for the last 17 years! It’s been surfing, off roading, fishing etc. Sure it’s scratched everywhere, but it still keeps decent time and doesn’t miss a beat. Probably should have it serviced soon due to the gaskets are old. I will request they don’t polish it, to keep its character.

Why keep it in a safe untouched for a decade so the next person can enjoy it? Imagine if we did that with our spouses

I’d rather have the cash than a watch I’m afraid to wear.

I don’t think he’s afraid to wear it. He’s hoping to make some money on it, so wants to keep it pristine. OP, most of us here wear our watches. We aren’t investors, where watches are concerned. We also don’t generally value watches. My advice: Rip of those stickers and enjoy that Daytona! And when you do, post a wrist shot!

Trouble today to many now Rolex watches have become little more that £££$$$ objects things and little more. Which is a shame once they were bought to wear and enjoy for decades on the wrist hopefully in good health.

Seriously. If I want an investment I’ll buy an annuity.
