First post, first Rolex 116200, got my Holy grail
Hey everybody! First post here and first Rolex.
After seeing the items in the Anthony Bourdain auction a few years ago in 2019 and his blue Rolex OP Date go up for sale (google Bourdain auction since i can't post links), I knew that was the first Rolex model I wanted to buy once the time was right and could afford it. Then after the long....loNG.....LONG road of paying off my student loans in 2023, I knew that was the right time to reward myself. I started looking online for the same model as the Bourdain watch, but found something a little more interesting to me, the datejust 36 blue dial and with the roulette date since it was something just a little different and a little more rare/hard to find. So after a year and a half of looking for the "right" one, I found my grail watch online just before xmas 2024... and I love it! |

Great choice - I have the same dial on Jubilee and Fluted bezel. The roulette date wheel is something special.

Congrats on your first Rolex and an incredible choice! That blue Datejust 36 with the roulette date is a fantastic nod to Bourdain’s watch while adding a unique touch...
