Here are some pix I took on a recent trip. Various phases of the trip.

1. Sunrise over Eastern India/Burma
2. Approach and landing Runway 28 New Dehli India
3. Approach Seletar Airport in Singapor
4. Those are not clouds in the distance, that is Mount Everest.
5. And of course I had to check the time to see if we were ahead of sched(had to have a Rollie shot

)

Excellent shots from a privileged position, much appreciated.
Good to see you have an appreciation of fine tools too, namely the GMTII and the MontBlanc. Perfect combination.
Either the auto pilot is works well or you have a very steady hand/s to keep it dead on 37,000 feet.
I take it you took the detour around Everest or did you go over the top?

I think Everest peaks at 29,000 feet, so he still had a good 8,000 feet of clearance!!

I don't know if flying protocols would dictate flying around Everest, I mean 8,000 feet is a lot less than 37,000 feet as a vertical distance to correct an error or make a deviation, if the situation were to arise. Why take an unnessary risk?
Anyway, I have no idea on these policy or flying protocol issues, but I would be interested to know (unless of course they are confidential practices).

Let's put it this way, Steve. He might be better off attempting Everest's summit the easier way....i.e. climbing. Landing a 747 on that peak would be quite a challenge....even with the GMT-II on!! LOL!!!

We were enroute from Manila to New Dehli so our route took us south of the big peak!! Great view though....

There are no restrictions that I know of on going over the top of it. Would make some great pix. Most of the terrain that we go over is hostile anyway(jungles, oceans, deserts), so if there is a trip over mountains it is just another set of decisions. Thank god we got a few engines out there!!

Sounds like fun, I guess its too much for me both financially and responsibility wise.

I can barely afford to drive in NYC now, just parking + insurance + gas cost me over a grand a month. Let alone keeping a plane that I can't really have much use for.

Was debating about getting a yacht though, but probably going to be a waste of money for me anyway.
