Glass fibre scratch pens
Hi,
I have what looks to be something similar to a fibre pen from a car scratch repair kit, which includes the three paint pens. The small fibre like pen is used to remove residue to the scratch prior to treatment. Does anyone know if this is the same kind of pen used as a “scratch pen”? It is advertised as a glass fibre pen, but just wanted to check if anyone has used this instead of a dedicated brand. Thanks |

Be forewarned as to sapphire crystals. Check with your CW-21 Rolex watchmaker .

I've tried Bergeon but it can be difficult to replicate the exact brushed finish using a fibreglass pen. Would practise on a cheap, beat up watch first.

Exactly what I wanted to say, practice with a cheap watch first.

If you practice with a fibreglass pen on a cheap bracelet you will throw the pen in the bin.
Ask me how I know this.

I use a Bergeon fibre pen under the lugs when I mess up again installing springbars. That’s about the biggest surface you can correct without noticing.
Imho you are not supposed to use it on top of the lugs or for refinishing the bracelet. For this you need long even parallel strokes which you cannot achieve with a fibre pen. A bracelet is a very easy DIY with scotch brite and obviously taped off the polished parts.
