Too Fast Too Furious ?
Hello everyone!
Bought my new Milgauss GV last Oct 31. Started using it since last week. Just a bit concerned because its running way way too fast.. Based on my observations after 24 hours... Twice it rans +10 seconds after having lied flat down on my desk.. Then also +5 after having it sideways crown up... Should I send it back to RSC(GM JJ) for Movement service? Or Should I give it more time to BREAK in ?? Need all my WIS family to give me some inputs...

It needs more time. Wearing it on a regular basis will help it to "break in" and all should be well soon enough.

I don't think a watch needs a break-in. Mine runs perfect since I got it 3 days ago. GV that is.
You can give it a few more days but I doubt it will help. |

I also do not believe in this "break in period" theory, it is not logical. I challenge a watchmaker to prove me wrong. I would send it in for re-regulation, free under warranty. And as my latest post warned, if you do, just call the RSC of your choice, mine being Dallas, and ask them to send you the free mailing kit to mail your watch to them, it's all inclusive, and very easy, and spares you from your dealer screwing your watch up when it arrives back as mine was.

I think you should have it regulated. No need to send to RSC. I'm sure a watchmaker local to you can do it.

BE VERY CAREFUL about this, I was told By Rolex that if a watchmaker opens your watch and does ANYTHING during your warranty period, your warranty is now void. I was told to only send it to a Rolex service center, period. If your watch is out of warranty, go ahead, no harm.

Be careful about about RSC you mean? Cause if i will send for service.... I would definitely only bring it to Rolex Service Center cause its a good 10mins walk from my office.

Hi Carlos,
Yeah I totally agree. Bring it over to the RSC. So I guess you'll take a stroll over to this building later? If you by any chance run in to Ian Dunross, tell him that I said hello... Cheers, Joe |

if you got it in the mail, most likely it was mishandled and banged against the floor heavily, shocking the micro-adjustment in the balance wheel off a bit.
No need to break-in, 10 seconds fast is outside spec and is NOT acceptable. Send it for service asap. |

I can't imagine what would need to break in. Either the watch is regulated properly (and it doesn't seem to be) or it isn't. Take it to be regulated soon so it can be thoroughly checked out to be certain there's nothing seriously wrong with it. Cool watch though, you'll love it more each time you wear it!

40 crown turns clockwise/set time with reliable time source. Then wear on wrist as normal check time daily with same setting source then average out loss or gain over say 5 days.If still out of spec a average of -4 to +6 over 24 hours all it needs is simple regulation a 30 minute job start to finish.

Hi Carlos,
Which time server are you using? If it is your computer how often does your computer update? I would like to confirm your time setting method before you open the watch and fix a problem you might not have. Also as Peter said, you need to wind it, set it and wear in for a few weeks - then evaluate.
