Bought GMT II-C

Great forum guys! After 14 years of owning a TT DJ...I made my 2nd purchase today. Got a new "M" SS GMT II-C from my AD at 15% off with no tax. Can't wait to pick it up Wed night. I have to pay cash to get the deal but it's worth the discount. It was the only one they had in stock.

So, questions for the experts on the site....How'd I do on price?

Thanks!

There have been BNIB Rolex GMT-C SS sold for about 20% discount on the forum (With Full Warranty). You should always check the forums first. Personally, I would never buy a BNIB from an AD again knowing the price discounts you can get online. But, if your going to keep your GMT-C for a long time, I see no problem with the 15% discount.

Well, it's only money! What's your sale's tax percentage? Add that to the 15 percent and if you're satisfied - that's all that matters.

Either way, it's a BEAUTIFUL WATCH! Congrats and welcome!

I could have saved a few bucks, but the service we have received from the AD is worth the money.

Sales tax is 7.75%, which makes it a better deal as well.

Thanks Steve! Congrats on your recent GMT purchase!

You did fine. If your tax percentage is anywhere close to ours you did the deal at about 23% off.

Naples, what really matters is are you going to be happy with your new watch? As long as you are.....then nothing else matters. Enjoy your new watch and give us a look at that beauty.

Congrats...and check the threads on the 'clasp failure'- then check your bracelet.
2 years on I love mine- wear it almost every day. In fact, I love it so much it made me go buy it a vintage brother...be careful or you'll be headed down that path too!

Maybe you could have saved some extra dollars and maybe not, it really doesn't matter and will matter even less in the days to come. Congratulations on getting a GREAT watch, wear it in good health!

I agree with the majority! You got a watch that you obviously love, and you did business with your local AD. Both - Priceless!! A couple of hunderd dollars, or whatever, either way, won't be significant on the bottom line of life, but your smile sure will be!! A really nice, new Rolex watch is worth every penney, especially if you keep them like you do! Just enjoy it! Congratulations!

Well, the GMT IIc was the very first Rolex I tried on. For a watch of that type, the 40mm is the perfect size! Fits like a glove, and the finish is superb. I ended up with a Milgauss, about the same percentage discount, but I am so pleased to have an AD that I really like. That is as important to me as the watch.
You did well, and congratulations! That is a beautiful piece, shiny but not too blingy, and a real class act!
Cheers,
Carl

Great deal whatever some say here you would find that hard to beat plus peace of mind from buying from an AD. You have established a relationship with the AD that will benefit you both in the future many congratulations

Depending on your tax rate but assume it's 8.25% + 15% off for the latest/greatest GMT IIc ????? I say yeah, you got a great deal so if you are happy than it's all cool. BTW...very nice watch!

There are some great sellers and deals to be had here at TRF, sometimes you'll see a great deal only to be followed by an even better deal, maybe even on the same day.

Bottom line is that you can't always get the best deal, sometimes many factors are involved....timing, convenience etc.

I got a good deal on my SD, but could have done slightly better here, but a wire transfer wasn't convenient at the time and there wasn't an SD available when I wanted it.

You did just fine and chose a nice piece....enjoy it.
