New Leather Shoes For The SAR GMT
Just received this ash leather nato w/ aviator buckle from Alstraps. I was a little concerned with the huge [in compared to traditional natos] SS buckle as they offer 2 styles. But it's amazingly stealth and blends seamlessly around the wrist. It also gives it a "Panerai" vide. The SS brushed hardware matches the SAR to a "T". One small negative is the low profile retainer rings. They are perfect for the keeper strap but made folding the excess strap a bit tight. A small issue though compared to the overall quality of this great strap.

Looks good, was it hard folding the leather tail back through?
I had a leather and sold it as it was a pain to thread the leftover tail back through the keepers. Love the Marathon, you really created a monster here.... The TSar got here yesterday and I have been wearing it on a black nato. Took it off tonight as I was going to the Red Wings game with a friend whose a watch snob so I wore my GV. The GSar should be here in the next week or so (I may sell it though since I have the TSar and just found the following) AND I found a SAR-D (love that its a very limited piece due to an error!) and I will be sending the funds out Monday for that one so with a week or so I will have that. Then I am done with Marathon haha unless I find a STEAL on a SAR someday as it would be nice to have that clean basic dial.....

Jeremy,
Folding the extra strap is tight but doable ["that's what she said", for all you OFFICE fans out there]. Looks like you're cornering the Marathon market. Btw, wearing a Marathon is the ultimate in watch snobbery. dP

Dan
Earlier in the day was wearing the Marathon and one of my buddies whose a very big Rolex collector and dealer who has the most amazing collection of AD items as well as new and vintage pieces came into my business to say Hi and saw the Marathon and laughed at me telling me to take that Seiko wanna be POS off my wrist HAHA I laughed at him and told him it was my new Tank!!! I am anxiously awaiting the GSar or Sar-D as I feel weird wearing a quartz haha but I do think I am gonna keep it and make the quartz my real beater.

Trader Joe's after the GTG. It's a "Tetsujin" of the watch.

For sure! With that height they are a true Tank!
It really does not feel like 41 mm either! I LOVE the height! Thanks again for introducing this brand to me! I still want a 12 hr bezel darn it!!!!!

The size and finish of the buckle is a nice match to the watch. Nice combo!
