Northern California watchmaker
I am thinking of getting my Sub serviced and am considering taking it to an independent. Only concern is the polishing skills.
Can anyone recommend a watchmaker around the Bay Area? Any help would be appreciated. |

Thanks, Wolfgang.
What's his turn around time for a typical service? |

Alternatively, you can talk to Tim at Jackson Square in Redwood City.

Thanks, Scott. Is his turn around time shorter than Giovanni's? Sorry about being so particular about getting my watch back quickly. Just a bit of a hang up for me.

Go to the RSC at Shreve. They are the best. Been there several times with mine. They are fantastic.

I suggest calling both and asking tomorrow - this is probably the worst time of year to service watches if you're in a hurry.

Thanks Bill, Scott, Wolfgang, and GoldenBear!
Looks like Giovanni's pretty popular in our neck of the woods. It's really quite a bonus to have official documentation with your service. I guess I should either put off servicing until mid-January, or just bite the bullet and wait. Thanks for the prompt responses guys. Really appreciate it. ![]() |

Jib,
I think Giovanni & Co have been closed since 12/18 for the holidays. Not sure when they re-open, but perhaps they have a message on their answering machine. He's a nice guy. Sized both my Rolexes for me...have not spent any $$$ there yet, but I will at some point soon. |
