Ok, stay with me, if you like:

We all kind of know about the car world, right? Volvo (safety), Porsche (intellectual?), Mercedes ($$) Corvette (back hair :-), Ferrari (trophy wife), Honda (sensible), pickup (practical), Jeep (outdoorsy), et cetera.

So, what does a watch say about you?

I am of course speaking with tongue-in-cheek.

But, are there similar comparos in the watch world? Do ladies size up a man's....watch? Does a woman's watch or a particular brand of watch often get assigned a particular "image" ?

Just curious.

I think my watches say to most that I spent WAY too much on watches. However, they don't get it. Just like I might not get someone's obsession with gardening, showing dogs or cats, state spoon collections, butterfly catching, etc.

My watch says "I don't give a "F" what you think and my watch can go to the bottom of the sea while your watch might crack in if rains too hard!!" Take that. And if my DSSD were a car I think it would be a Aston Martin DBS. Fast, expensive, extreme performance, etc.

Yes, tongue-in-cheek as well

I wear a 1968 Day-Date with a non assuming strap. It keeps time within the peramaters of the best mechanical watches in the world. I wear it for me, not the great unwashed. The great unwashed don't know what it is so I'm not afraid of them lusting after it.

I wear a Rolex because I like them...hell Im retired at sit around all day in Boxers watching T.V.
Since Im a old fart I really dont care what anybody thinks...I drive a Highlander...holds lots of junk. I try to look poor.... I dont like to attract attention

I love the Mustang and Camaro however I to am with some physical problems and the only car for me is my Lincoln LS. The LS is fast with the V8, it is well balances for a car, it handles way beyond my expectations. I really love my car.

My 1505 and 1601 are vintage just like me. I am 50 years old and the watches are both 1970. I was 10 when they were made, the United States was on the brink of of civil war from the late 1960's early 1970's with everyting going on like Kent University, riots, Manson murders, Woodstock, Watergate break in, death of Bobby Kennedy, MLK, Jim Morrison, Mama Cass, and the big one Viet Nam. I do not think the United States really recovered from that mess, it destroyed our social core and understanding.

Well, I must be really confusing to people if they look at my watch or my cars to try to figure me out...

I have a Z06, an SRT 10 and a Wrangler and ladies DJ with about a carat of diamonds.

I'm a simple man, with simple pleasures, that cost a lot (compared to my income).
Sub, GMT, PAM 111, not complicated, not over the top.

Same way I like food and pretty much anything.

Mine say that I appreciate my functional jewelry, without it looking past function. My watches are to be used, but taken care of. They show that time is important to me, and accuracy is there and to be trusted when looked at. I don't have to quiz myself each day to wonder if the machine is correct or not. It's a functional device that needs to be there 24-7 in any condition, and without fail.

1. 95% of the women could not care less about watch you have.

2. I met countless women that told me that the worst watch a man can wear is a Rolex.

3. Every woman I met that commented on my Rolex has tried to get free stuff from me. Like drinks at a bar for example.
