Hi everybody

New to watches and even newer to Rolex.
I got a non dated 1991 Sub from a friend 3 days ago.
My Sub is in very good condition and was serviced not a long while ago and has box and papers.
Its the regular black SS model with from what I understand Caliber 3000 movement.
My first instinct was to get the dated Sub but I thought its better to get a watch I know its history and know its been recently service and not risk getting hit by tax if I buy it on ebay so I got this Sub.

I love the watch even without the date, very elegant and classy looking and as expected keeps perfect time.

My questions are:

Is the non dated Sub an easy sell ?
Are they desirable compared to the dated Sub ?
How much would you estimate my Sub is worth ?

The no date Sub is probably one of the easier Rolex Sport models to sell, but depending how much you are asking will determine how quickly it will sell.
Overall, I would have to say the Sub Date is more desirable than the no date, but what is desirable to one, may not be to another.
As far as value, depending on the condition of the watch, anywhere from US $2400 - $3000.

Well said, Scott............but in my neck of the woods, the no-date Sub is a hard-case seller.

On the other hand, the SS Sub-date will fly out the door in a minute.

Here in Atlanta too, in fact an AD called me to ask if he could buy mine as they can't get anymore, and he knows I baby my watches. Funny.

Around here Dealers usually don't have any Subs (ND) in stock because they go out the door within hours of putting them in the display case....

Thank you very much for the info.
At this time I have no intention to sell my new Sub but I do like to know what I bought and if its an easy sell.
The price I paid for the watch is in the upper frame of the range you gave but I think its worth it due to the facts I stated in my OP.

Congrats on a great classic!

I do not know the Canadian market, but where I live (Europe), I'd say there are five to ten Submariner dates on every non date. This said, they are not difficult to sell. I like them both, possibly the non date better.

The watch was sold in less then 2 days so its my impression that YES the dateless Sub is an easy sell

From my experience any Sub will sell easy if priced right.
You have an excellent watch there my friend, I hope you enjoy it for many years.

Keep it in good shape and you should get your money back (or close to it) if you ever sell...

Thank you, just like with my fountain pen collection I am VERY anal (did anyone said obsessive ?) about keeping them in pristine condition. This is also my attitude in regards to my watches.
