Out of all the timepieces outside of Rolex and Omega, I think UN will be my next move.
This is the El Toro and appears to be coming out of Basel this year. Opinions? This one will be prohibitive when it premiers, but later on may settle into a price point where it is affordable. I also love this timepiece and it is on my radar at the right price.

I have owned two ULN Marine series watches...
They are nice, heck they are beautiful watches. For some reason they just never live up to my expectations when I get them. Don't have any particular reason just I have gotten them, I have bored of them quickly, found them to start collecting dust and sold them as a result. I don't mind a rubber strap but the ULN has those two metal pieces and they just don't feel like they should be there and if you make a mistake sizing the watch and cut a piece of rubber off the wrong side you better get ready to buy a new strap, if not those metal things will rub the bone on the side you cut short. I did notice the new one you posted does not have the metal mid rubber... I guess others have complained about this as well.

I do like them. Esp the Maxi Marine Chrono. There is a new model one for sale in the for sale section here i think that is lovely. Have to be on a bracelet though; can't stand rubber straps.

That's a BEAUTY! I too have owned several UN's and depending on the model, some sing to me. The first watch you posted would definitely 'sing' to me. Recently sold a Sonata which I would have loved to keep as well, just couldn't afford. The regular Maxi Marine Divers are nice as well, but being a modified ETA (fine-tuned to COSC, no less), the price-tag sort of bothers me. However, bought low enough, I wouldn't mind having one on the ol' personal winder.

For the longest time, I've been wanting to get a UN Maxi Diver until I tried one and it looked too big for my 6.5 inch wrist :(
