Anyone had experience with Orange County, CA Jeweler...

...named Jewelers Ontime? They have two stores in Newport Beach and Orange and claim to have "Rolex factory trained and certified" technicians. I called them today and they quoted 325.00 for a standard service. Sure beats 700.00 for a RSC service.

Anyone have an experience they could share about this store or any other Jewelers in the Southern CA area? Or am I a complete fool for thinking of letting anyone other than a RSC handle my watch?

Thanks,

Mike

Jewelers On Time

I have been there often. Their service work is flawless and is watched over by Rolex. It is worth a visit to see great pieces on display. Check out their website. www.jewelersontime.com Ask for Kenny.

Thanks for your comment. When I asked them if they were authorized to do Rolex service they said "No" but they said that they are Rolex trained.

I have just heard some real negative experiences that people have had with someone other than a RSC.

Can anyone else comment on this?

Thanks...

You need to make sure what you are getting for your $325. Many shops break down the watch to major components, sonic clean, assemble and re-oil... This is OK if the watch is already in good condition.

Rolex takes it down to the last screw, replaces the high use expendables (main wheels, jewels, rotor axles, mainspring, etc) or out of tolerance parts, and refinishes the case to standards... it comes back close to as-new parameters..

Sometimes you do get what you pay for..

I agree. As detailed as the kind of lubricants they use, since this is the lifeline of the watch. You don't want to be coming back there is a 1-2 yrs. because they didn't use oe's.

By oe's do you mean "original equipment" ?

Thanks,

Mike

yeah, I mean if they are charging $320 for this service, I might as well spend another $200 and send it to ROLEX ....Now $150-$200 I will go to them....

Been meaning to ask the same question as well as they are local to me. Rolex service cost around $500? I had no idea it cost that much. Does this place and rolex service polish the watch as well (from scratches)? Or just internal?
