Sell the Sea dweller.

the daytona is still a very very rare watch, and most sought after.

If you can not keep them both--which I would try to do--I would keep the Daytona.

I was confused because i wear the watch everyday i dont keep them in the safe so is the daytona everyday wearer or the sea dweller is better in terms of everyday use.

both are every day wearers but the daytona is the rarer watch and if you truly need to sell one i would sell the seadweller.

You never know it may come back at some point int he near future.

Depending on what you paid for the DSSD you might take a reasonable hit whereas if you paid list for the SS Daytona you should make a profit.

Personally, I prefer the SD. If money is a factor, the Daytona will get you 2X's what the SD will on resale.

I would keep the Sea-dweller. But I don't really like Daytonas.

From a pure monetary and "collector" standpoint, I'd keep the Daytona and sell the SeaDweller. However, I don't like most chronos except for the legendary Omega Moonwatch.

If it was me, I'd keep the SeaDweller which I love, sell the Daytona, buy an Omega Moon, and then pocket the rest of the money!!

So true. The Speedy pro is the ultimate chrono, and with a nice discount, you can buy 4 of them for the price of the Daytona. It's just smart money to sell the Daytona and buy a Speedmaster, then you'll wonder what all the hype was about with the Daytona. Best of luck with your decision.

Agreed! I bought a M serial SD 4 days ago and will be picking up my V daytona tomorrow. Its imposible to get the Daytona when the economy recovers.

If you don't mind possibly losing a little money sell the sea dweller. You'll have less trouble buying one back later if you so choose. If you need more money and want to get a least what you paid for the watch sell the Daytona, but keep in mind in today's market you'll have a harder time replacing it as quickly as you could the sea dweller, IMHO.

I'd personally keep the Sea Dweller, you see fewer of them in the wild tbh, and I'd argue it's little more practical

Daytona is not rare, in fact its a regular production watch, sea dweller is out of production. Everyone seems to forget rolex make hundreds of thousands of watches each year with tens of millions having been produced so i am not sure why when were talking about late production watches that the use of the word rare really adds anything. I have both and if i had to choose i would keep the daytona. Why, because its the watch everybody has that nobody can get but in the end you keep what you like the most.

I myself would keep the Seadweller, you can still pick a Daytona up in the future but your SD is one of the last made.

That was the only reason i am in two minds as I think its hard to get a V serial seadweller than the daytona and never know if there will be another seadweller again as the deepsea is too big.

Once the recession disappears you will regret selling your Daytona....I sold a V-serial SD for my Brand new Daytona.

If you search the world you can find Daytonas these days....its a hard search but you can find them at ADs with a bit of work, but thats due to ADs calling people on their list, and the people on the list having to refuse due to finance issues.

Once the economy gets back getting a Daytona will be almost impossible.

The SD is a nice watch, and I loved mine, but its not a Daytona :)

I say Keep the Daytona and sell the SD...coz thats exactly what I did and the SD is still with the trader I sold it to 4 months on UNSOLD....that says theyre not as desireable as you would think.

Nairn,
I got my seadweller from scotland as i was unable to get hold of one in London. I think you are right I might keep the daytona but i dont want everybody to notice the watch. The seadweller i am wearing for few months good thing is nobody notices it but i am not sure about the Daytona

The opposite actually mate,

Since having my Daytona it is not noticed as much as my SD. People who are not in the "know" tend to spot a Rolex from the cyclops and chunky look.

Only true collectors/watch buffs like us would spot a Daytona...thats what ive found :)

The Daytona is not rare in terms of production numbers, there are tens of thousands out there, and it's not hard to find one (at a price). As I've said before, if you want a truly rare modern Daytona, get a TT or 18Ct one

You should sell the Daytona, as the Seadweller is more useful, but you should ask yourself a question. Why did I buy both, when it was obviously not appropriate?

Go with your heart! I'd have a tough time parting with either, but I'd let go of the SD before the Daytona.
