Met the world famous Sherrell Tyree today!

Sherrell Tyree is one of the best Nibmeisters on planet earth, but what I didn't know is that she lived in the Kansas City area!!

I called her and wanted her to do some nib work, she graciously accepted and had me come to her home and drop off 4 pens.

I am having two of my MB's reground to an italic and a left oblique and my new Omas Dama ground to a left oblique. The other, a marvelous Pelikan left oblique, I left with her for a template as it is the finest writer I have ever owned. Can't wait to get them back, but alas that is 8 weeks away as she is in such demand.

Anyway, if you ever need some very nice nibmeistering done, don't hesitate to give Sherrell a try. The internet is full of great reviews of her talents.

Here is a neat article that talks a bit about her famous collection.

And here is her site. http://www.ink-pen.com/

Richard, this is exciting news, I can't wait for them to come back so we can hear your thoughts!

Looks like I will join the Parker 51 ranks at long last next week. My Vintage pen repair guy has one with a broad nib and will bring it along to the pen club meet so I will give it a go..I have a feeling I will have an empty wallet after the meeting!
Hope all is well with you my friend.

Hey Ian! That is exciting news about the 51. These can be an addiction by themselves so beeeeee careful that it doesn't get off on you! I know, I have owned several and it becomes an obsession to collect all the colors and caps. Especially that Buckskin which can be super $$$!

You don't see that many with the broad nib. I would love to see a sample of its writing when you get it.

Take care!

Richard

Those buckskin ones are beautiful! I am not sure what colour the one I am thinking of getting (heck, who am I kidding getting!) but as you say, the broad nib ones are at a premium. I am just glad he has one! I am hoping it is burgundy as the Queens 51 is that colour and I have always been a fan of the Royal Family Will go to the Meeting on Thursday so hopefully this time next week I will have put together a review!
