Yes! Let's convince, persuade, or coerce the others to join what we know is the right way to write!

Kyle, you might take a different tack and give it a try. "Why do you think you would write with a fountain pen?" And then give it that "outside in" perspective; without actually having written with one before.
![]() I don't think you should exclude yourself 'just because...' What do you think, Chris?

Chris, once again, thank you for your generosity!
Here is my Attempt! Writing with a fountain pen is like meditation. The greater your peace, the more profound your words! Reaching the point where the Fountain pen and you become one and the flow of consciousness from your soul is matched by that of the ink from pen to paper! |

Great idea for a competition, and very generous prize.
Here is my submission. Owning and using a fine fountain pen can be likened to owning a fine watch, the end result of telling the time or writing a note can be achieved by quartz or biro, but the joy of a mechanical watch or fountain pen takes the ownership pleasure to another level.

Here is my submission :
Our society today is "let's just throw-away"; instead of forever it's "just for today"; but the finest things in life should never be ignored, like the finest Fountain Pen that one can afford. |

Not enough people don't understand the art, detail, and work that goes into making these fine pens and watches. Fountain pens and great watches are created by the combination of engineering and art, and they should be appreciated more.
![]() Anyway, that's what I think. I want to become an engineer one day. ![]() ![]() |

Writing with a fountain pen says says that a person has character, a sense of classic elegance, has good taste, they are a not easily swayed by today's modern advertising gimmicks, they have a lot of class, and can express themselves in a medium that displays their handwriting style!

Put a pencil through my right eye and then smack my sorry ass with a wet towel. I missed the opportunity and clearly didn't read the f ______g thread! I'll catch another contest but will actually take the time to read the rules, deadlines, etc. I hope this faux pas doesn't make me a bad person. Was it so wrong? Faith

![]() ![]() But, if a train is traveling due east from New York at 93MPH, what time is it in Shanghai, where the guy in the blue house lives...? ![]() ![]() But seriously Faith, looking forward to your entry. ![]()

The most intricate parts of who I am flow through my fountain pen. This wondrous instrument informs you of my strengths, failures, feelings and values. How appropos that one's pen also takes on the unique characteristics of its owner. A most perfect synthesis of writer and writing instrument.
