Newbie from Scotland

Hi all,

Live in Scotland, am a disabled ex-serviceman living on a War Disability Pension so my chances of owning a new or pre-owned Rolex Submariner are very slim. (The closest I have come to a Rolex, is the Oyster Perpeptual Datejust which my cousin owns. If memory serves me correct, he also owns a gold Omega Deville on a bracelet) Not that I am moaning, there is someone always worse off than yourself

My interests are computing, photography and history. I would think that photography is as expensive a hobby as watch collecting. I have always been drawn to watches and fountain pens.

For the past three weeks I have been visiting various watch forums, I would say that my first choice in a watch would be a Rolex Submariner, followed by a 60's Omega Seamaster 300m and lastly an Omega Planet Ocean.

Hi Johny,

If that is you in your avatar, I think I might have photographed you at the Denholm Vintage Car Rally in 2008.

Just got to stop buying Omega's Though, I have found my Omega grail in the 2594.52.00.

I have totted up what I have spent on watches since February and realise that I could have bought a Rolex. Oh well, sell two Omega's, put some money away and this time next year with luck I will own a Rolex and an Omega.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
