GMT II with the green gmt hand is a 50 years anniversary one. So someday it can be released with the red hand again.. Should I hurry to get it or no need to rush.. Thanx my friends..

It's a fairly new model, so how can it get over? Plenty of them around..............so get one ONLY if you really like it. You'd have to check that out for yourself.

Why do you think Rolex will ever stop the GREEN hand? Rolex is very traditional minded and will not deviate unless it's a completely different and new model.

I'm pretty sure the GMT-IIC will always be manufactured with the green hand. Don't see the colour changing at all.

JJ, I agree with you. They certainly didn't get rid of the green look on the new LV!

Even if there are no changes I have no doubt the price is going up.

I love that watch but I really love the green hand.. Green hand looks nice on the black dial and maybe next year they can relase it with a red hand who knows.. So I guess I have to save some for it from now.. JJ; also thinking about your two tone GMT.. I tried and it really looks nice under the sunshine:)

Well, if you are prepared to spend a little extra, the TT model is very beautiful to look at - sporty-cum-dressy all rolled into one. If the price is good, I'd highly recommend it!!

I think that green hand is here to stay. Rolex is slow to change so when they made all of the significant updates to the GMTII with the release of the 116710LN, I think they changed the hand from red to green in order to set it apart from all of the GMT's before it. In other words they wanted to distinguish this watch so casual buyers can instantly see that it's not the same watch it used to be...even though it's the same in many many ways.

I think they could eliminate the green lettering if Rolex ever comes out with a coke or pepsi.

That is my guess also.

If/when a Pepsi/Coke is released, there's probably a decent chance than the black bezel watch will switch over to red lettering and red 24 hour hand. (matching what we'd expect to see on the Pepsi/Coke)

Also, since there are some new faces here - the only GMT-IIc that is technically the 50th Anniversary is the solid YG with green face.

Isn't the all-gold GMT IIC with the green dial the "real" 50th anniversary GMT?

Also, since Rolex didn't introduce any changes to the GMT IIC at this Basel, the soonest anything could happen to the GMT IIC is spring 2011. And that would only roll into actual (distributed) products around fall 2011. So there's plenty of time to pick up the green hand (current) GMT IIC.

Agreed. There should be no issues getting a GMT II. They have been selling like hotcakes and production is probably pretty high.
