Newbie to Rolex with this forum being an invaluable source of information.

My choice for first Rolex will be between.

Daytona TT 116523 White Arabic dial, with the exchange from Euros to Pounds costing £ 7,664.00 I understand this is the first one with this dial they have had in stock as its a new dial.

Submariner TT 116613LB at £ 5,620

Or wait as the AD is expecting a Daytona SS in this month but no discount so will cost £ 6,200

Guidance would be appreciated.

i saw your thread on TZ-UK and the same...
i would go for the 116523 as imho the white Arabic dial with
all black sub dials is the nicest dial of modern Daytona :)

SS Daytona, if you care about resale value... check resale value of each of these watches and you will find out that 2 tone and gold watches lose much more value than SS, plus Daytona is the one watch you will be able to sell basically for the same amount you brought it.

If you don't want to wait you can always get an 116520 here on TRF - check out the sales section.

But if I were in your shoes I'd get a 16520

- more $$ but IMHO it's the nicer out of the 2. Check out mine:

Today's the day, after only waiting about 8 weeks the AD has a SS Daytona in stock for me to view.
I'm still considering the TT Sub in Blue so will be interesting to see my reaction to both side by side and on the wrist but can the knowledgeable members here advise me on what serial numbers should be on each, I guess random on the Daytona but what would the last letter serial be on the Sub before random numbers.

Last letter serial before the random is V.....

What is a month? Wait for the SS Daytona. It was just a year ago you had to wait for many, many months sometimes years for a SS Daytona. The pipline seems to be opening up.

£ 6,200 ($8,850) is a good price for a new SS Daytona from an AD. You would be hard pressed to find one from a trusted TRF seller for that price. You also develop a relationship with the AD and support a brick and mortar establishment so you can see the watches.

Now what you should be asking is black or white?

The deed is done and there's a black SS Daytona on the wrist.

I also had a choice of either the blue TT Sub 16613 or the 116613 or the white Daytona.

What a choice to have to make but have to say the AD has been fantastic since meeting them a few months ago and kept to his promise that when one arrived I would be called immediately.

Watch and customer service A++++ photos later.

Great choice on a great watch and valued commodity. Super price! You paid well under the going price from trusted TRF sellers and supported your local AD. Sounds like they treated you well and you reciprocated. You are now on their “A” list for future purchases.

I tried buying from my local AD, and they shook their head and said no. They reserve the few SS Daytona’s that come in for their “A” list customers, a trusted seller on TRF came to my rescue. Look forward to the pics.

Wait on the SS Daytona. I've been eyeing the TT Daytona (used) but expect to pay a bit less than for a comparable SS Daytona.

get the TT daytona, it is the best bang for your buck in daytona world

IMHO, one day the TT will rise over the SS since there has been to many SS around and the market is not too good (read: weakening demand for new SS due to economic condition)

i have seen 2 SS white dial in my AD< it has been there for 3 weeks and no one buy them like the way it used to be...

no offense intended for daytona SS owner...

RSC London and my AD in Geneva pointed out that only 499 SS Daytonas went into production. Its a no brainer - good you got you hands on the SS Daytona.
