Does the RSC replace wtih the new Bleu Parachrom?

When you send in a 3185 for service can you request the new spring as a replacement or do they do it anyway? (Or will it even fit?) That would be an incentive to actually use them - and since I now have a vanilla never modified watch I actually could.

The hairsprings are seldom replaced unless they are faulty,do you thing by adding a parachrom will make your watch better.Its just a hairspring and whether Nivourox or parachrom would doubt if the average wearer would ever notice any difference.Now as soon as Rolex gets self sufficient in escapement part all new Rolex will have the in-house escapement parts but its no big deal unless you believe the hype.

Actually I just like the antimagnetic aspect...that is a true improvement IMO...all the rest is speculation but non ferrous is sort of proven science. (unlike all this hype about the world being round )

Now Nivarox is the name for the alloy very much like Rolex calling theres Parachrom.Now this Nivarox alloy has mainly Cobalt (42-48%), Nickel (15-25%) and Chromium (16-22%). There are also small amounts of titanium and beryllium. Hairsprings made of this alloy are very wear-resistant,very shock resistant and they are non-rusting, practically non-magnetic, and possess a low coefficient of thermal expansion.So when used for critical watch components the alloy reduces errors due to temperature variation etc. This type of Nivarox alloy thats been used by 99% of the whole Swiss industry for 40 plus years, made obsolete the need for extra expensive compensation in the balance wheels.Now Nivaflex the alloy used in the mainsprings of most of the Swiss watch industry is made by Schwab Feller .So if you dont wear your watch dial down with the back off.Or dangle a powerful magnet over the hairspring with the back off IMHO you would fine no appreciable difference whatsoever what spring was in the case.

I would not be surprised to see Parachrome Bleu as a replacement part for Nivarox in the future, but as Padi says there is no real reason to change a well functioning Nivarox spring.

Also, I do not know if Rolex replaces the spring only, or if the want to replace the entire balance bridge, including spring, and that is expensive.

Personally I am very pleased with the accuracy I get from the Nivarox based watches I have, but I have to admit that I am impressed by the consistency given by the PB based watches.
