Midnight date change on GMT-IIc
Hi guys
Now that TRF is back, wanted to continue on discussion about an issue with my 4 week old, brand new, AD purchased GMT-IIc I noticed the other night that at approx 11.58pm, the date half changed (didnt tick over completely to the next day). Then at about 2.00am, it changed over correctly However I understand that the date should snap at 12midnight +- a few minutes and that this should occur once a day. How did this get past QC? and is my best bet to take it back to the RSC directly rather than go through the AD? might be quicker that way Thanks all |

Yes you will need to take it in... I also had a GMT IIc that did the same thing. It would get stuck half way through the date change and not completely change until almost 3am...
The bad news is that they could not fix it I sent it in on 3 different occasions, it would come back from RSC 6 weeks later and work fine or a coule weeks or a month and then start sticking again... My AD actually re purchased the watch from me at full price, go figure! It pays to have a great relationship with your AD, I would send through them as if you do have more issues he may be able to get is Rolex rep involved. This was about a year and a half ago for me and I had a TT M serial. Do a search, there are others here with the same issue, seems to be a GMT thing becasue I have owned several other models and never had an issue. Good Luck, Adam

Damn that's not good to hear, quite depressing actually, and disappointed in Rolex.
Especially that they couldnt fix it either and it cost you that much time (6 weeks x 3) Saved and spent good money to find this, sigh |

I have also heard that it is just excess oil on the date wheel and it may just start working after a few weeks... Unfortunately for me this didnt happen. Looking back, I would not have sent it in more than once, I would have just lived with it. If it bothers you that much, I would send it in and then flip it...
