AD didn't put my name on the Warantee Card

Just purchased a brand new Explorer II from an AD and got it last night. The AD that I purchased it from forgot to put my name on the warantee card.

Is this required for the warantee to be honored by Rolex?

Is there any advantage in not having my name on the card or should I high tail it back and have them fill it out?

As long as the AD has their name on the card.... why does it matter if our name isn't on it?

Isn't it technically better to have an "open" card anyway??

Icon5 Can someone PLEASE answer the question repeated below...

Am I right in saying the warranty is only honoured if the card has your name on it (in other words, it's not transferable)?

PS Yes, I know it's mind-boggling that I'm asking the question, but as the owner of 4 Rolex's in total and two at present, I actually only just realised that this might be the case!

I have spoken to my AD about this, apparently rolex sent letters out last year informing the ADs that if they did not fill the owners name on the warranty card, if it goes back for service or repair the AD who sold it will have to pay a premium, He said they had been stung twice so not again.

P.S plus when the AD sells a rolex he has to put the serial number in his ledger with the date sold so rolex has a thread on the watch, i dont think he has to put the owners name, the warranty goes with the watch not the owner.........

I would expect you would want your name proudly placed on that warranty! And congrats to you on your purchase!

You can simply write your name on it with a pen...is the date of purchase filled out? If not, leave it open. Whats the rush?

yeah, you can write your name but you might do better leaving it blank if you ever want to sell it.

When I bought my Explorer from an AD, they had me write in my name myself, but in the store, in front of the salesperson.

X3. My AD left my name off the card for my LV...I wouldnt worry and if it bothers you, they should be more than willing to put it on there for you.

Keep it blank. maybe a higher resell value for someone that would want the warranty in their name?

Leave it blank, if you need warranty, fill it out just before you send the watch to Rolex.

What about the date?

How would Rolex know when the watch was purchased?

They certainly know what date they supplied it to the AD, and in my experience will tell you if you ask.

Both my Rolex does not have my name on the warranty card but have the date chop. Guess the AD leave it intentionally for customers to be more flexible.
