No Regret

I bought my first Rolex about 3 months ago. A brand new SS no date sub and I absolutely love it. However, for some reason the last couple of weeks I started to feel a twinge of regret for not buying a watch with a date. However, after surfing some of the old threads on this forum about the ND sub and looking at how classic and clean looking this watch is, I have come to the conclusion that I made the perfect choice for me and have no regrets buying this iconic piece. I plan on keeping this puppy for the rest of my life and passing it down with pride. Boy it feels good to get that little devil off my shoulder telling me I made the wrong choice. What the hell was I thinking?

Dan, you are gonna wanna get yourself a EXP-II for a backup, then you will have a Date & GMT function along with the perfect divers' watch! Also a watch to wear when the subs' gotta go in for servicing. I own both, you should too.

I almost bought a non-date Sub but in the end opted for the dated version. No regrets at all in doing so but I agree that the clean simple dial of the non-date is very appealing. However, my next Rolex will be (I hope) a vintage Sub 5513 which is a non-date watch. Hopefully when I have obtained one I will have satisfied my current Rolex desires! After that only God knows where my watchful eye might wander lol

The sea dweller is just as clean looking as the non date submariner. Personally I have to have a watch with a date on it.

It is a great watch enjoy it!

Yeah and the boat sits at the end of my dock in my backyard on a lake with 650 miles of coastline. Theres a little cost for lake living as well. I was happy to get the No Date Sub without the wife getting on me about that. No complaints though. I made the right choice.

I personally need a date display and prefer the cyclops "Rolex" style. My buddy bought a no-date Sub to save a bit of $$ but felt short changed not having a date on his new Rolex. A month later traded it back to the dealer on a date display Sub. He lost some $$$ on the whole ordeal.

Congrats, it's a great watch! I'd suggest buying your wife a Rolex as well. She'll get the disease and be more tolerant of subsequent purchases on your part. Best part about buying your SO a watch is getting to look at it while she is wearing it...

My wife actually has a Date Just that just sits in our safe. She's had it for 5 years and rarely ever wears it. I once made a suggestion that she allow me to trade her's in but that was a no go. I guess we can give that to my daughter one day. She will be 16 months old Monday.
