Well boys and girls, now the story. As I am preparing for my next trip I start where all WIS start, even before clothes and paperwork: which watch to take!
Here is where the story goes funny. Let me explain. A few months ago I got the nice surprise from my AD (thank you D&D!) of the arrival of my SS Daytona, followed shortly (thank you again D&D!) by a 2T Sub-c. With this new babies, the collection has a nice variety, going from YG pieces, through 2 tone and then into SS....and complete (?) Back to trip: As I am always very careful about my surroundings, I have no problem taking any of these babies (well, almost any) if the area that I will visit and agenda are 'familiar'; but the upcoming trip will include a LOT of areas that I do not know. I have done some research and, even if I play it safe, it is advised not to take 'flashy jewelry', so that tells me my YG and 2T babies have to stay home. SS is the way to go....and here it all goes weird I want to take a Rollie with me, but the Daytona does not sound like the right match for a 'new place' trip...then it hits me: I DO NOT HAVE a 'low profile' SS Rolex!!! While I am still keeping my cell as far away from me as possible to avoid calling the duty free AD at my first stop and asking what they have in stock, I am puzzled with the situation and which baby to take. Since I will be in similar time zones (2 hour difference only), a 2nd timezone watch is not critical, this brings me back to Tudor and IWC. ...any suggestions? |

Stay in the middle...not all gold or all SS....take 2 TT's...your sub & the DJ.

Gerardo,
Como esta usted? You answer is easy...buy an Exp II, either dial color. Low profile, two timezones, rock-solid movement, and most AD's will deal on them since they're not on the '10 best dressed' list. bueno suerte!

I would look at Exp I or II as they would be a departure from what you already have. Good Luck!!!

If I had to choose from what you have, I'd say the TT DJ is the lowest profile Rolex you have and imho would attract the least amount attention as there are alot of people who wear copy-cats of that model that it'd be difficult at first glance to know if it was a real Rolex or not.

Take the AT and the DJ. And if you have a Casio, Suunto, or Timex, take one with you, too. Great collection btw.

Since you've already had the white one, it sounds like it's time for a black dial Exp II. Come on. This is too easy.

Milgauss. Not the most iconic Rolex, thus it is low-profile...
