I'm no Rolex expert but I'm seeing a V Submariner for sale that sports the 16710 number on the back. Is this possible?? I thought the Sub was 116610 and the GMT was 16710. Please advise. And no...I have no intentions of making this purchase. I just discovered it "searching around".

Neither of those models should be sporting a model number on their "back"

It actually looks like a clear decal (instead of green holographic) with the numbers 16710 to a watch being advertised as a V Submariner. I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain I've seen the GMT2 associated with the 16710 number. Thanks for the input.

The new Sub Ceramic is 116610.

The old Sub is 16610.

You are correct. The GMT (non-ceramic; discontinued ~2007) is 16710.

Thanks. That what I thought but wasn't entirely certain that they don't have a "new" number out for the 2008-now Sub. besides 116610.

Sounds fishy too me can you get some pics?

Could be an aftermarket mislabel we really need to see the watch.
