What's the difference between an AirKing and OP Date?? Other than
the date window, what's the difference between the two? They're both 34mm but I don't get it? Other than the date window, which one is better?

It's a matter of taste, budget, number of different dials available and whether you care about the date feature or not.

They're different watches - that's the difference.. Just like they're not a Datejust or an Explorer... or a 35mm Yachtmaster..

One isn't better than the other....

Absolutely nothing movements like the cal 3000 or Cal 3130 were used in the non date sub,Airking,and Explorer.While at one time only the Explorer was CO SC tested but exactly the came movement as the Airking and sub.Now all Rolex mechanical watches are COSC tested,but today the COSC is little more than pure marketing.As only the bare movement is tested and the only certification is it was tested at that time and passed the test.Today most mechanical movements with a bit of regulation and patience could be made to pass the COSC test.

WOW! I just looked at the new price list and the OP date is $1100 more than the AK. That seems to be a bit much for a date wheel.

In recent years Air Kings are certified chronometers as well.

general question first asked. true on the AK in the last few years. there
is are no other things different besides the date feature in a 3135 vs 3130 if the both share chronometer rating.

the difference that i know, is that a date watch will see quicker then a
non-date. so then it goes to personally choice. do you want a date or
no-date

That is pretty much the standard price difference for date/nodate. Prior to the sub c that was about the diff between a date/nodate sub for instance.
For some people (me!) if it is a watch I will wear on an everyday basis I MUST have a date so it is worth a thousand bucks. If it is an occasional wear watch I can forgo the date.
