What is Wrong with me .....Rolex to Panerai
What is wrong with me....
Since getting my new Pam005 I find myself longing for the Friday casual dress day at work when I can wear my Pam again over the weekend. I love my GMT iic and TT Sub ...... I wear them for work as they are nice dress watches but they now look cluttered and small and I find myself looking forward to the change back to the Pam. There is something so special about a simple wind up watch on a quality substantial leather band... well its Friday tomorrow and Pam day.... 3 days to wear my favourite watch. |

Houston we've lost him.
Nothing wrong with that, as variety is the spice of Life.

Congrats on the 005. I'm a big fan of both, next watch could be either the PAM 420 or a ND Sub (non cosc)...

Nothing at all wrong. Two storied brands that are distant cousins. Once you try a Panerai you understand how much the brand (and the community) bring to the table.

Panerai have had a Rolex association back in the 1930s... so they are kinda "related".... abit like "Rolex and Zenith" |

Nothing wrong with that. I always miss my Rolex when I'm wearing my PAMs, and I miss my PAMs when I wear my Rolex. :D

man i have been wondering the exact same thing about myself. i love my 112 so much that i now wear it to work during the week instead of just on fridays or for casual wear.
lately i have been wondering if i didnt waste money on my GMTIIc since i hardly wear it. seems like with the money i spent on the GMTIIc it should be worn more. but for some reason i find myself wanting to wear the 112 much more than anything else i have. |

I'm with ya, I much prefer having a Panerai on my wrist. A simple strap change can get me all excited over wearing a certain Panerai for weeks.

Appreciate it. I'd have to say, it is my fav watch right now.
Yeah, it is an OEM that I bought from a guy in HK. Brand new, but broken in nicely now!

Agreed on most counts.
Part of the issue, at least with me, is the size differential. I mean, after the Panerai, anything that's 40-41mm just seems so ... small. So much so that it just doesn't even "feel" right anymore. Purely psychological, for sure, but a large part of why I even OWN the watches I own is the "feel". |

my Sub and DJ have been "allocated" to other family members...but I sometimes miss them...
I think its pretty natural..the simple historical PAM dial is pretty mesmerizing

My partner has a PAM 005 and it looks so great when on with the leather band. They look so big and bold. Wonderful watches. I like it better than my Rolex..

I'm forcing myself to wear my SD after a long stint with my 112. It's harder to go smaller and barely any lume after the PAM. But the SD looks great from a distance peeking out of a black shirt cuff. But, Rolex suffer readability and zen-dial-clutter compared to a base Pam. It usually takes me 2 weeks to adjust.

I did the same thing when I got my 312....
... but I think at heart, I'm always going to be a baseline Rolex guy. The Panerais are awesome, but Rolex is my first and foremost. That said, I'm still trying to get back into the fold - 233 or 292 are my next goals. And when I do get them, I'm sure to feel the exact way you are. I'll look forward to weekends!

Got my 1st PAM, a 25- Titanium Submersible, about 2 weeks ago and haven't taken it off since. We'll see how long the honeymoon period lasts.
