Icon20 Tesco vouchers ---- bad news !!!!!

Hi peeps

Just had notification that Tesco are changing the voucher offer from December 2010

From the 6th dec Tesco points will only be worth 3 times the face value at goldsmiths, so cash them in now whilst you can and still get 4x the value of your clubcard points.

I got a 16610 sub date paid for totally with £3760 worth of goldsmiths vouchers (940 Tesco voucher x 4 = £3760)

Then sold the watch and paid for this years summer holiday for 6 of us to Lanzarote for 18 days.

What a great result.......

Have already got 1200 since April this year towards the next one !!!

I got the same letter only yesterday Mark!

But then again over the years I've paid for two (Quartz!! ) Omega SeaMasters in full, almost half my GMTc, & almost half again of my cSub' with them so can't complain eh?!?!?

Funny thing is that we're not running lorries up to Liverpool now either though so my ol' Goldsmiths account's gonna go the same way as the rest o'the economy I reckon!

And to make it worst Tesco has reduced the CC points via fuel purchase now !

It's 1 point for every £2 of fuel !

Ok I've considered buying a rolex through Goldsmith using tesco clubcard vouchers.
I've been keeping tabs on ebay and to get a 5k voucher is impossible.
I'd probably need 10x£500 (approximately) goldsmiths vouchers
This would create the problem that each is likely to be in a different name.

I've heard Goldsmith don't really monitor the name on a single voucher but I could see a problem when having 10!

THE PLAN
I have been told that if I bought an item worth £500 with voucher and returned it a few days later I would be given a "goldsmiths" credit note (NOT SURE IF THIS IS TRUE). Although somewhat of a long process i'd have £5k worth of vouchers at the costing approximately 66% of it's face value.

Can you only accumulate points by spending at tesco?

Do you not get 1 point for every £4 spent regardless of where it is spent? Shame I didn't know about this earlier...I'm whacking £5k on my Amex on Friday for some art my bro is buying...that would have been a nice bunch of tesco points.

Use a Tesco CREDIT card to shop anywhere (but you have to link the CREDIT card account with your CLUBcard account via CLUBcard customer services) & you'll still get clubcard points.
