Yes it is! stunning! The pic shows the new Rolex box I was talking about too. Opens up on one side to let the green watch box come out. Cool.

I know. I am easily amused.

LOL - I bet you played with the cardboard box that the toy came in when you were a small kid - to your parent's chagrin - didn't you Tom!!!

Congratulations on your TT GMT

I got mine in December and it's hardly been off my wrist. I love all the improvements to this classic. 3186 movement, Case, Lugs, crown, crown guards, Maxi-dial, bezel, bracelet, clasp, extension half-link and the green GMT hand all go to make this the best GMT Master ever. and I've had a few.

so it is a new movt, thought so...help me understand, even though i owned a gmt earlier I forgot, when i put crown in position where time stops/hacks I can then advance the gmt hand, once i get gmt hand to where i want it i can then go to position 2 and turn the hours backwards? to get to the hour I want, so I dont advance the date? i guess what I am confused about is IS it ok to turn counterclockwise when moving hour only, or for that matter when in hack position...

Randy,

Your new GMT-II has the exact same movement and functions as the older one. Whereas the older calibre was 3185, this one is numbered as 3186 because of the new Parachrom Blued hairspring.

Other than that, all the rest is identical.

sounds familiar, what i cant remember is can you turn it counter clockwise in both time changing positions, without harming the movt...i think you can, the point being you do this so you dont advance the date when changing the gmt hand

Yes, you can....no problems.

The GMTs are desgined for time-zone changes whether you're moving from East to West or vice versa.

on the 3186, there is also less free-play on the 12-hour hand when it is moved in the 1 hourly jumps.....
