Registration of Serial # of Watches to be Serviced at RSC (Question)
Hi Guys,
I have just brought my YM to RSC Jakarta for service. I noticed that a few minutes after I gave the watch to the receptionist to be checked and estimated, the receptionist came out and informed me that they have the record of the serial # of the watch and they can also see my name there as the owner of the watch. I can understand this because I brought this watch to the same RSC before for service so I believe they have my name and the serial # of the watch in their record My question is, if I bring to RSC let say my newly purchased pre owned Rolex (maybe I would consider my next Rolex would a pre owned one), and they find in their record that the watch serial # was registered with the name of the previous owner and not mine, would this bring maybe a little bit difficulty to me? Will they do some kind of interrogation to me to find out the origin of this watch? Thank you in advance for your help. Regards

Good question. As the owner of a preowned Rolex I'd like to know as well.

When I sent mine to the Beverly Hills RSC, they asked me to include a statement as to how I obtained the watch and if it was purchased, when and where that purchase occurred.

Did they ask for that information before or after you sent the Rolex?

Most Rolex Service Centres would not bother. They are so damn busy and loaded with service watches that I don't think they have the time for these trivialties.
As long as the watch has never been reported as stolen or lost, the RSC will just carry out whatever jobs have to be done on the watch and give it back to the bearer of the Receipt. JJ
