Tudor Ranger - legit or not?
What are your collective thoughts on this?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....ht_9497wt_1026 The case back looked a bit sketchy to me but then again I'm no expert. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Rob. |

I tried to buy a Tudor Ranger, its probably the most faked watch out there. So unless you are 150% happy, walk away.
Some are total fakes (like the one I got burnt buy) or some are genuine Tudor watches with a fake Ranger dial thrown in.

look at the ref number and the serial. then look at these on some 30 year-old watches posted here on TRF. notice that there is no REGISTERED DESIGN? notice how the numbers are centered? notice how the font and stamping of the numbers do not resemble anything else on TRF. The case is super clean. no corrosion. draw your own conclusions.

I've researched this listing, and IMHO the seller is carefully saying in every way that it is not an original Tudor Ranger. "The dial might have been refurbished ... it was done with expertise."
He also says "an genuine Rolex rivited bracelet with a Tudor buckle" but the bracelet isn't riveted. I believe that it is a Tudor watch, just did not come from the factory as it looks today. You may consider buying it to wear and enjoy, wouldn't recommend it as a collectible. |

ezinternet, you stopped short of mentioning that the case was likely made in china. so, the dial, case, hands are all aftermarket. not the best advice to recommend that anyone buy this. even at 300 its a ripoff
