Red Sub Date

I've never heard of this but can someone comment... My 1680 date dial has all open 6's and 9's except for the 26. What do you guys know about this?

It's also strange (to me anyway) that the 21 & 31 appear to be larger than the rest in the 20-31 series. I suppose it's due to the smaller space needed for the 1, but that still doesn't explain the closed 6 on 26 while the 9 is open in 29.

Will (likely) never know the reason.

The numbers in the teens are all large, 21 & 31 are just the reverse of 12 & 13. But yeah that closed 6 in 26 is a mystery!

I think it looks odder when you see it on the exposed dial, once it's in the date window it will look centred.
