GMT II Bezel Inserts-Necessary Tech ?
Since recently buying a GMT II, I have wondered about the ease and issues surrounding bezel insert changes. I'm quite happy with the Pepsi bezel, but I'm curious now that I own the watch about bezel inserts (availability is a whole other topic...). I could forsee changing inserts from time to time in the future to change the look of the watch. So, a few questions:
1. Is the bezel change technically tricky? I would be concerned about somehow marking the case or bezel in the removal process. 2. Is it true that by changing the bezel insert on your own during the warranty period, you can void the Rolex guarantee? If so, then I wouldn't even think of changing. 3. If you ask Rolex to change the bezel insert, is it also true that they will only replace with the original colour and that they keep the insert they are changing? There seems to be some debate on this. Cheers all. |

You should be able to replace the insert with the tutorial roaming around the net.
Finding the replacement is the problem. Rolex USA makes it very difficult. My wife is visiting Germany next week and I hope to have her purchase an extra red/ blue insert for my 16710. dP
