16610LV or Sub C?
I am torn between the two. I like the black ceramic bezel and maxidial on the new sub, but I do not necessarily like the supercase. The new bracelet is not such a big draw to me. I like the maxidial on the old LV, the smaller case, the ability to swap out the bezel back and forth between black and green, and don't mind the old bracelet. Which would you choose if you had a choice?

Sounds like you want the LV.
I would go for the LV and put a black insert on it! |

That is a tough call. I like both and have both. I can tell you wearing a Sub C- a WG one- as my daily watch--I love the case and glidelock--as would you once you wore it. Personally though--I guess I would opt for a classic LV if I did not have one as you can always get a new Sub C down the road.

I would want the LV, that's why I have bought two now. Too many subs around here for me to want one, C or otherwise.

Holding the two watches in my hand confirms a more solid, heavier feel of the ceramic sub. Whether it's worth the $1400 difference is your call.

I would go for the LV as it is a discontinued model already, while you would still be able get the sub c for many years to come.

Sub LV. The design of the new Sub C is unfortunate.

My vote goes to the LV. I really like that green against the black max-dial.

I still preferr the classic Subs to the new ceramic, maxi case. Just haven't "warmed up" to the new look yet.

Imho: the 16610LV is the best submariner ever produced... Why? (imho)
- the most important for me: perfectly balanced case, not square - green touch, natural and peacefull - the only classic case (design approved over the years) with maxi dial. - soft surface of the bezel insert, which can deliciously fade over the years - bracelet: old one has proved its reliability. - crown guards are slim, more aesthetical.. - already a collector, can still be found bnib !

A very close call, but if forced to decide, I'd pick the new Sub c because of the Glidelock bracelet and ceramic bezel.

Glidelock and ceramic change the aesthetics of the watch... But are they tougher and more reliable? Only time will tell. I think that there is no real reliability improvement, so decision must rely on visual preferences.

More reliable as in...?
The ceramic insert is supposed to be more durable against fading, but not so much on the toughness (brittle comes to mind). The glidelock clasp will probably be less "durable" because it had more moving parts?!? But it is def more functional then the fliplock and the easylink clasps. Personally, I like both new "features" (I won't call them an improvement as yet ![]() ![]() |

A close call, but it seems to me that you want the LV more than you want the Sub C. Either way, good luck on finding the right one

Sub C is the one you should really go for.Maxi case and maxi dial and ceramic are the best thing in a Rolex.

I would say 16610LV...rather then the 116610LV-c because Im not keen on all that green..if you are comparing with the Black-subc then I would pick the Black because I love the look of the new Rolex subs....
